Talking Year end - LESS than invoice pricing?

I've searched and read the big "What did you pay" thread...interesting but only some of the posts had both the "sticker" and "price paid less T&L". That's what your need to know to figure out "how much off" somebody got...

Digging around I've found two dealers that are offering about 10% off sticker on left over 06's right out of the gate on the internet. And there is the $2250 rebate on the LE 4x4 crew i'm looking at!

Edmunds is saying "true value" is a few bucks over invoice, then knock off the rebate. Seems like a good deal....but it depends on what "dealer incentives" Nissan is paying to move the '06 leftovers!

The Titan I'm looking at stickers for 36,285, invoice 32,748
Edmunds says I should pay 32,787 less the 2250 for a net price of
30,037 plus Tax and Tags.

So for a leftover '06 in SOCAL is this "SMOKEN"? "Okay but there is more to be had"? "You'll never get it that cheap!".....

Re: Year end - LESS than invoice pricing?

This late in the year you should pay the no more than invoice minus the rebate. So your figure of 30k is right. Dont forget they also make money on "hold back" and bonuses for moving stuff. Mention the "holdback" word and they will realize you know what your talking about.

Re: Year end - LESS than invoice pricing?

I took mine home on the 30th of last month. I paid 1000 under invoice, according to edmunds, it was an SE CC. Then TT & L.

Sticker: 31875
Price after discount: 25358 + TT & L
Nissan Rebate: 2250
Dealer discount: 4267
+TT & L It was just under 27k.

I had a trade that they gave me 7k for and that saved me about 600 in taxes too.

I started looking/sending e-mails on about the 24th or 25th of last month, and drove it home by the end of the month.

Contact as many dealers as you can, see if they will beat the price, and keep on trying. Some of them may be rude (as I found out) but usually they'll either match or or say they can't and that's quite a deal. Find a lot where they need to sell 3 or 4 more before the end of the month and you'll get it with them taking a small loss on it.

I think you should be able to go in saying you will pay 1000 less than what emunds says, and they will get as close as possible. I walked in saying I got 19.5 + trade (15k loan, 4.5 cash), and my trade, this is the truck I want, if you can make it happen I'll drive it home today, if not, well I know it doesn't help your quotas for this month, but, I'll save up a little more and come back in a month or two. They got it to where I had to only put down 19.7, so I came up with 200 bucks. I didn't really even haggle, It was this is my offer, take it or leave it. And by the way on the 29th or 30th he called me back dropping the price 500 more. He had it at 25.9 on like the 26th or 27th of the month, and dropped to 25.4 on the 30th.

He did tell me had he had to sell 3 more after mine in the last 2 days of the month.

Sorry for the novel, but i hope that helps.

I also got baited and switched by another dealer, where I promptly walked out. And then antoher dealer was willing to work with me... but he didn't have the exact truck I wanted.

Funny thing about the bait and switch... I went there at 10 am... walked out after I realized he didn't have it, he called me at 3 pm, to see if I was comming back to look at a similar one, and I said "No, I'm driving home my new Titan right now, they had the excact one I wanted at the price I wanted"

Good times.

Novel is great! ...funny about the "bait and switch". I think some dealerships count on people being "suckers". I'm usually not there long! LOL!

I'm upfront that I've "done my homework" and if they want to move a unit quick...lets do it. Some will, some won't... The funny ones are the ones who take it as a personal challange and try to rip me off. They can't understand why I'm walking off the lot laughing!

Keep'm coming guys!
