Shops won't level it...

I've got Greg's 2.5 leveling kit and I've heard that it's really easy to put on. The problem is I just don't have the time. I've been to two different shops who both said they'd charge around $330 to install and align afterwards (which I think is pretty steep anyway)....but they can't do it. One shop said the cambor is too much, another said it was just too high.

I know there are a bunch of you out there with the same setup. 2004 Titan King Cab and the 2wd leveling kit... I know it works. What's the deal? Anybody have any thoughts or know what I can do?

Re: Shops won't level it...

It should cost about $200 bucks for the install and alignment.

Re: Shops won't level it...

I had a local automotive shop install my DRE coilovers, (very similar installation), for $105. [Same place did my rear shocks a few months earlier for $55].

Then Big-O tires aligned the following day for $79. I think you only need to adjust the Toe though and around TitanTalk, somewhere are instructions by PRG. Measuring tape and tie rod adjustment thing.

Re: Shops won't level it...

Im in arizona and at the dealer we charge 4 hours to install it..i know its a little steep but that include the install/ alignment/ and the eccentrics your going to need to get the alignment perfect..it wont be off by much and you could be okay...but whats the point in "maybe ruining a set of tires"
about $260.00 plus tax

Re: Shops won't level it...

4 hours? really? when the guys on here who aren't necessarily mechanics are installing it in 2-3? probably gonna end up doing it myself and just paying for the alignment...just means I'm gonna have to wait to put it on until I have the time..which definitely wont be in the next month

Re: Shops won't level it...

Charging 4 hours worth of shop rate just to put a leveling kit on? Yikes! I guess they don't call 'em "stealerships" for nothing do they!?

For that price, you could have Greg Gagnon himself fly down to Orlando and install the leveling kit for you.lol!

Alignment can be a little tricky though. Took my dealer two times to get it right. Good thing I didn't have to pay for it the second time.

Re: Shops won't level it...

Hi, new to the forum.

I just had my friend install my leveling kit for $60 but am having problems finding a shop that will do the alignment on it since there is a bit too much + camber on the front tires now and are wearing faster on the outside edge. I read in another post here that someone went to sears for theirs and was happy with it so far, I might give them a try this week.

Only problem I see is that I really dont seen a spot to make the adjustments for the camber on my 06. Does this truck need a camber kit to allow for the bottom arm to move outward a bit? There is a bolt and round washer in that spot but the bolt is exactly in the center of that washer.

Re: Shops won't level it...

you have to get the ecentric bolts from nissan.i had to get my truck aligned the first week i had it so the dealer ate the bolts and alignment.the reason it takes 4 hrs is when they install the ecentric bolts it wacks out everything on the alignment and it takes a little while to set everything back to spec.

Re: Shops won't level it...

I put a 2 1/2 spacer on my truck when I first got it. I never had the alignment done and my tires wore fine. I installed the kit in 1 hr 15 min.
