Question Anyone Put Tweeters In Dash

I was wondering if anyone put just a tweeter in their dash to replace the 2 way speaker from the factory, did you use a bass blocker?

Re: Anyone Put Tweeters In Dash

I haven't done this in my Titan but I know you need to put a bass blocker on or you will kill the tweeter very quickly unless you are running a seperate amp and crossover. I would still use the bass blocker regardless...

Yes I did and they are JL audio with a crossover built onto them. I like the overall sound.

Re: Anyone Put Tweeters In Dash

just buy a "component" set this will come with a mid bass speaker and tweeter with a crossover to make sure all speakers only get what signals they are capable of playing..

Re: Anyone Put Tweeters In Dash

I gave up trying to fit the tweeter into the dash mounting location. I just put them into the a-pillars. I think they sound better that way also.

Could you post some pictures of them installed in the A-pillars? That would be great

That will depend on the tweeters...

Some tweeters sound amazing on axis and some might sound better than others off axis(stock location)

DLS tweeters sound amazing off axis...ON Axis there may be better choices...

the Iridium tweeters with a little T-alight sound suprising good in stock locations. However this is part of a component set. My Tweeters do say 4 ohms on them while the door speakers are 2 ohms. I have no idea how the Stock HU powers the tweeters it makes no sense at all.... It's probably not worth changing them unless you just get a component set and amp.
