So I was riding in my friends quad cab ram yesterday. Not a bad truck, but about what I expected. He kinda put some power on the pedal and I gave him the ol "That thing gotta hemi!" He said that he did not, and I scoffed saying, "aww you only have the 4.7....what's the point"
He got very upset saying that his truck could outpull mine anyway, I laughed. I explained to him that even the hemi ram typically does not hold a candle to my truck. He was in total disbelief. There will be a challenge soon, I can feel it. Luckily there was a guy in the back who was siding with me saying everything he has read says that my truck will whoop the dog**** outta his. I guess he just didn't want a foreign truck showing him who's boss.
I'll post when it all goes down. He talked about tieing a tow rope to both vehicles and pulling, but that just sounds like a horrible idea to me. Maybe we can just drag though

My Jeep had the 4.7 in it and it was fast. Must have had something to do with the way it was geared for offroading (and a lot less weight than a Ram) but it would flat get up and go.

The 4.7 in the Dodge feels about like the 5.4 in the Ford. Slooooowwwww! We test drove one of those when we bought our Dodge Hemi a couple years ago and it was a dog. Also one of our tooling salesman had one of those trucks and he says his gas mileage here in the mountains was worse than my Titan. He says he drove with his foot to the floor every time he went up any kind of hill just to try and keep up with traffic.
As a side note we just sold my wifes Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 high output motor in it and believe it or not it would outrun the Titan. It was only 265HP but the Grand Cherokees are very light due to being a unibody design. That plus the all wheel drive made that thing launch hard and just flat get up and go. I think it all comes down to the weight of the big Dodge just being too much for that motor but in a lighter (over 1200lbs less) vehicle it makes a really impressive motor.
