Need help with a noise.

Did a search but I cant find anything.I remember reading a post several months ago about someone saying they had a strange noise that sounded like sleet hitting the windshield.Well a few days ago on my way home from work it did it for about 10 miles and then stopped and hasnt done it again until this morning. At speed its a constant noise its sounds like its coming from where the windshield meets the dash on the passenger side.It did it this morning for 3 or 4 miles and then once I slowed down to about 20 mph it went away and didnt come back.I would describe as sleet hitting the windshield or something frying in grease.I know it sounds strange but thats the only way I know to describe it,I cant even tell if the sound is coming from the inside or the outside.Any ideas?

I had that too, but then it went away. Its the plastic molding in front of the windshield where the wiper arms are. I just rubs on the windshield when cold.

Re: Need help with a noise.

Check the plastic windshield wiper cowel. The white plastic clips that hold the cowel down can come loose or break. You should not be able to pry up the cowel if they are intact. Mine were broken by the monkey that replaced a cracked windshield.
