Should I shop for a Titan?

I haven't been here for quite awhile, so now that we are in the market for a new truck I came back to update my knowledge of the Titan. My question would be whether some of the nagging problems have been fixed with the 06 model year. Our plans for the truck would include some light commuting and weekly towing by the wife of a horse trailer that may have a weight of up to 6,500 lbs going distances of up to 200 miles.
I guess my concerns center around the brake, differential, axle seals issues that have been around for awhile.
I wasn't planning to look at the Titan, but when you are going to spend a chunk of cash you want to consider all options. It wasn't that I didn't like the truck, it was more of being scared of those issues that I had read about when I first found this site way back when.
So, update me!

Re: Should I shop for a Titan?

I just bought a v8 4x4 crewcab and I am wondering if I should have gotten the f-150 instead.... Noisy inside the cab, floor vibration 12 mph in the city.
Much better looking than the f-150 though.

You probably would have hated the F150 more....the people I know who have F150s hate them....I had one when my Titan was in for service and it was the biggest piece of crap I have ever had the pleasure of driving, well sans the Mercury Tracer lawnmower racer I had a few years back....anyway, I have an 04 that I have not had one single problem with other than the few quirks that come along with a 1st model year.....

Even with an F150, you wouldn't get good gas mileage either...I average about 14 city with my Titan and that's actually pretty damn good to me for a full size with a V8 and the power of a titan....to each their own

Re: Should I shop for a Titan?

After months of research i picked up the titan. Drove all the others, jumped on all the others sites and forums. After all my research, i picked an 06 up and love it. With all the research ive done, i think nissan ironed out most of the problems. good luck in ur search for ur new ride, the titan will not dissapoint

Lightbulb Re: Should I shop for a Titan?

I've had my Titan for one year as of Oct. 12th. I now have approx. 31K on the odometer! Never had a lick of trouble with my truck and I drive it fairly hard. I also have a 23' Boat which with trailer weighs in at a healthy 6,000 Lbs give or take...more give than take! I can tow that thing at 75 MPH+ if I so choose 250 Miles and you wouldn't even know it's there! Just got back from a long road trip (3K Miles) and ran an average of 75 MPH with an attianed MPG of 20+.

Keep in mind my truck is a 2wd non big tow (Highway Gears).

Just my $.02.

Noisy? I love that the Titan has a nice exhuast note, No need to go aftermarket unless you want even more tone.

Re: Should I shop for a Titan?

I drove an F-150, it drove like a tired old Town car, Quiet Yes, but no fun and no power, the Titan much more entertaining.

yeah we also have a 05 f150. its a nice little car for driving around and going shopping (its my wifes car haha) but if you want real power get the titan. so what if its a little louder. bigger engine=more noise. i have a very easy solution to that problem, turn the radio up. i really sugguest the titan over the ford, take it from a guy who has both.
