Sealed or Ported Box????????????????

Which sounds better in a Titan, ported or sealed?
I am going to go with a 10" sub, down firing, and thinking of putting port holes in the skinny part of the box under the middle of the seat...........

Re: Sealed or Ported Box????????????????

Both will sound good. Sealed boxes will produce tighter bass but generally require more power to get the same volume as a ported box.

Re: Sealed or Ported Box????????????????

Depends on the driver. Higher Q woofers perform best in sealed enclosures. Lower Q drivers are better in ported enclosures. Matching driver to box design will yield best overall response. But in general, ported enclosures will yield lower bass response, where sealed enclosures will tend to provide better pulse response.
