Rear Grip due to lighter back end.

Hello all. First an introduction, I'm Josh. I used to have a 2006 Xterra, but it got totalled, so I'm looking to upgrade and the Titan is #1 on my list of potentials. So I appreciate everyone's help in my decision making. MY question is, (and if this has been covered before that's fine if you just want to send me a link), I've always wanted a pickup, but I've heard that they tend to slide out in the back due to the low weight. Now I live in Florida, and we get frequent heavy rains, so I don't wanna be slipping and fishtailing all over the roads everytime it rains. I also have a house in the mountains of NC, and I don't exactly think that slipping and sliding all along narrow little windy mountain roads or sliding down a snowy icy driveway sounds like much fun. So I was just wondering if this is a big problem with the Titan, specifically a Crew Cab. Thanks, Josh.

Yes it is worse with most trucks compared to SUVs. That said...throw a couple bags of sand in the back during the rainy season and be done with it!

No more slip n' slide.

Re: Rear Grip due to lighter back end.

They (Titans) tend to slide out in back because the back end is so much fun to steer with the throttle.

Re: Rear Grip due to lighter back end.

Slippery rear when it rains?? Happens on dry pavement on a hot summer day to me....must be the heavy elements in my right foot. Seriously though, our trucks are so torquey that it takes a feather foot and some weight in the rear to minimize tire spin. So yeah, sand bags or a couple bails of straw should help. Welcome to TT and good luck with your purchase!!
