This thing kicks the crap out of my Frontier!

I gave up on my 2002 Frontier and finally broke down and bought a 2006 titan king cab SE 4x4. wow - a truck that can accellerate - this will take some getting used to. The Nissan list so far:

1985 720 - lowered.....embarrassing, yes, but I was in high school. It was cool. Shaved door handles, hydraulics, etc. Had to park a block away because I couldn't make it over the speed bumps in the parking lot. Rear-ended and written off at 300000km

1992 SE 4x4 king cab. Still Japanese built and bulletproof. Best truck ever. I beat the crap out of it and it kept going....285000km and I still see it sometimes driven by its latest owner.

2002 Frontier crew cab SE - built in USA - getting rough around the edges at 166000km. Depressing. I can't believe a nissan could go bad so fast. Needs work, I need a bigger truck, it's gone. A solid truck I suppose for a few good years but not as good as the last one.

2006 Titan King SE 4x4. Pick it up this week sometime. I'd be willing to bet it's no worse on gas than the Frontier was...plus this one actually has measurable torque and horsepower. I hope it's as good as a few of it's predecessors!

Here's hoping this forum is as good a source of info as the Frontier forum was! Hi everyone.

Re: This thing kicks the crap out of my Frontier!

Welcome!! I went from a 01 Frontier SC to the Titan and there is no comparing the two. I had the SC replaced 4 times in 63000 miles. The warranty went out at 60k and the thing started to rattle again so I said thats it. I got between 14 and 15 mpg in the city with the frontier and I get 11 to 13 mpg in the city with the Titan depending how I drive it.

Welcome aboard!!! I went from an Xterra SC which is similair to the Frontier. Was very happy with it but when the lease ran out, there was no question on the Titan! Had no problems on my X so from that experience, I was confident on getting another Nissan 4x4. Hope you find this site as useful as I do!!!

Re: This thing kicks the crap out of my Frontier!

The old gen Frontier does not compare with the Titan ,but I believe them to be very solid trucks.

My dad has a 01 crew cab SC with 130k with no problems other than the crappy manifolds that like to leak.

They were replaced under warranty.
4 chargers in 60k is alot!!

I wonder if it was installation error or mis diagnosed.
A sticky bypass valve will cause the chargers to rattle also.

Titan is definitely KING! yes even among the nissan family. i was driving a 99 Infiniti QX4 (dressed-up pathfinder), but around 90,000 miles i started having lil' issues. now i have an '04 Titan LE CC and i couldn't be happier (well, as soon as the wife lets me lift it anyways...)

anyhoo, congrats & welcome to the forum!

Welcome aboard! Share some picts of your new ride!!!

Congrats on buying the best 1/2 ton truck out there... Just a word of caution, stay away from those members that have modified thier trucks..
i say this because once you start there is no turning back lol! I know this from personal experience!

I have an 04 LE/CC and the list of mods keeps growing!
