That sounds like he was trolling in the F-150 forum. Two reasons I say that. First, no F-150 will come close to a Titan 0-50. Second, The Dodge HEMI is our only real competition so there's no way he's beating HEMIs and losing to Titans. A HEMI will eat a Ford F-150. SO I call BS on that post.

This guy almost had a good argument. Then he had to ruin it with the last sentence.
First of all, sweet truck, I love the look!
Secondly, your gonna have a hard time beating a Titan unless you start modding. Tuners are a great way to suck more power out of the 5.4, look at Edge Products or SCT Xcalibrator. The Titan's have more horsepower, more torque, and an excellent 5speed tranny that helps put more of the power to the ground. At least your truck doesn't look so freakin ugly
Post #21 of that thread intrigues me..... What is everyone's opinion of the rear ends that are in the Titans? And this may be a mood point soon since with the problems with out rear ends Nissan could decide to go with a different manufacturer in the new Titan. I could be wrong, but it is possible. The guy addresses the lack of options in rear end ratio's with the BT package. He also cites that our rear end is an updated version of a rear end used in the 40-50's? This is an area I have little knowledge so please fill me in on his comments.
Please understand that I DO take what he says with a grain of salt due to it's coming off of a Ford forum. One area I do know a thing or two about! LOL!!!
He's got a well modded truck, (read whole thread) don't know that it would be enough to make up the huge differance between a 5.4 and our engines. Doesn't seem likely. Very little support from his own guys. Nice to see they recognize our low power loss through the drivetrain, and great transmissions too, it's not just us thinking these things.
One thing I wondered though, lets say we compare 2 equal Titans for a real answer here, how much differance would it make on rim size alone, for straight line acceleration? I thought handling curves and looks were their advantage, not weight.
Do big rims and wide tires weigh more or less than stock? I know wider is more weight.
Does that stiff sidewall amke a "significant" diff.?
How can he (F150) be double his size? The Titan is a crewcab?

Would love to answer your questions but...I have NO idea what you just said! If I did, it would be a MOOD point!

Hudson Valley-
I am referring to the thread that is referenced in the original post of this thread. If you go to that link, an F150 forum, and go to the second page of that thread, look on the right side and you will see that each post is numbered. Go to post number #21 and read it. I was wondering on everyones take on his opinions. I also wanted everyone to know that I do take what the guy says with a grain of salt since it is referenced off of a Ford site.
If what I am asking still doesn't make any sense then I need to get off the crack pipe!! LOL!!

Here...I'll quote the post:
"While Nissan states the Titan can tow...what...around 9800 pounds...the rear end is very weak.
Titan uses an updated version of the old Dana Spicer 44..the rear end that Ford used in cars and light trucks from 1949-1956.
Titans have had multiple rear end failures....axle bearing problems and grease seal leaks. The spider gears in 2004-5 were cast....and fail...eating the rear end in the process.
Only one axle ratio is available in the Big Tow option...which is a joke IMO, because all you get is big mirrors, a 331-1 ratio, upgraded alternator and battery, trans temp gauge and a hitch and wiring.
I wouldn't tow anything over 5,000 pounds with anything less than an F-250."
His last comment alone shows his lack of knowledge and that his opinion is his and his alone.
The Dana 44 wasn't around in the 1950s, Ford only offers any more rear end ratios on the 150 than the Titan offers, and I'm living proof that an 04 Titan can easily tow an 8500 LB travel trailer and keep it's solid rear end in tact. Remember...opinions are like A-holes. Everyone has one.
