Brake Judder update

Ok for those of you with early Titans, there has been a change in procedure at all of the Nissan dealers as directed by Nissan.

Once you have had the initial repair completed (new pads and rotors) they are no longer supporting the 3 year 36K warranty. They are now just resurfacing your rotors and leaving your old pads on. They are now calling it a ware item.

I know many of you have gone back in 3 or 4 times and had the full set of Pads and Rotors replaced. Nissan apparently is not happy having to do this so they changed their procedure. We are now stuck with sh!t brakes.

Re: Brake Judder update

I noticed the newest TSB stated that if you did have the "new" set done they will not replace again..

thanks for the update.

Re: Brake Judder update

Only make sense, can't expect them to fix your brakes forever. I got my judder done at 7K miles, I'm at 25K miles now with no problems. When it goes out I know it's normal wear and tear and will pay for the fix.

Re: Brake Judder update

That's where I'm at now, 33K on my original rotors and pads, time to have them turned and replaced...

Re: Brake Judder update

I just bought an early 05 Titan with 55K miles. How can I tell if the brakes were fixed/upgraded?

If they haven't, what can I do? Aftermarket parts?

Re: Brake Judder update

I had mine done at 15K and now at 20K the Judder returned. So my fix did not bode well. So I was a little bummed out that the new rotors went at 5K miles.

If you just got it fixed and only 5K miles, then the dealer need to step up and take care of you. Can't call normal wear and tear at only 5K. Hope they take care of it, goodluck.

Re: Brake Judder update

Am I understanding what I am reading? Can Nissan change a warranty that I have in writing just like that? I had the brake TSB done at 20k, Now I am pushing 80k, no judder, great brakes. But I kind of liked the security of getting them replaced under warranty if they did fail.

I understood the warranty to be 3yrs unlimited miles. Right?

Re: Brake Judder update

You guys kind of got me concerned with the brakes What is the difference between the brakes on the '04 and early '05 vs. the '06? Do I need to be concerned? The build date on mine is 6/2006.

You're ok, don't worry. The only 06's involved had build dates before 12/05.

I don't like Nissan's logic on this.

Re: Brake Judder update

I have it in writing that my brakes are covered for 3/36. Let them try to deny it if I have any brake problems. Their stuck for 3/36, no matter what precedure they change after the fact.
