Do a search for more details. I made a lengthy post about 1-2 weeks ago on this subject. Find "tbs and +2 timing"
No, it (the on board computer) will not reset the Modified initial timing advance. It is a permanent Mod. It changes the starting point of timing from 15 to 17 degrees BTDC. It takes about 100-200 miles of driving for the ECU to learn changes in your driving style for how it controls Throttle/Fuel etc. The advance is not directly affected by this.
If you want full benefit, you must drive aggressive or ECU will give milder response. Response is given back by a bit of aggresive driving again, say 100-200 miles.
Disconnecting battery a long time (many hours) may erase it, conflicting reports exist on this.
Go ahead and get it, hopefully 50 bucks or less if you know someone with the Cipher as I have. Better throttle reponse is best attribute of the Mod, about 6 HP increase possible.
