I'm am changing out my fluids tomorrow

Where to start: I have an 04 Titan that I bought new and I think I've taken care of pretty well. I change the oil every 7500 miles. I first drain the oil and remove the oil filter. Fill with the cheapest oil and filter I can find and run it either for 5-10 minutes if I'm in a hurry or I'll take it for a few mile drive. You would be surprised at how nasty the oil comes out even just after idleing for 5 minutes. Then I drain and put in Mobile 1 full syn and a Nissan OEM filter.
I did the Front and Rear diff at 30K (first time I ever tried a diff) with out a hic up thanks to you guys on here. I know I'm a new member but I've been coming here since my truck was new. I know I probably should have done the diffs sooner, as they were quite nasty, especially the rear. So its 60K and time to do the diffs again. Mobile 1 syn 75-140 for the rear. I think I'll wait on the front. I bought that stuff at Wal Mart last time now they seemed to have stopped caring it. Schucks wants 17.99/q and Nissan even more. Ouch
I will be doing my first attempt at the transmission fluid and transfer case. I've looked through tons of threads and have done tons of searches. I've been able to find one pic that seems to be helpful. Does anyone have any pics of the drain and fill plugs for these two things. I've looked when I'm down there doing my oil and Im lost. I am also considering doing the drain pan drop of the transmission since its been 60K and I have not done anything to it. Any suggestions? Is this difficult? Any pics? What tools will I need?
I have no training with any of this, I just climb under and see what I can figure out so don't get too technical on me please. I think a pic will go a long way.
I know there are a few people that will say this has already been discussed, and for the life of me I've looked. If you have a link, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You

Mark

And I'm working on getting an avatar and all my info up. The only thing I've done to my truck so far is a K&N CAI. Thanks again

Re: I'm am changing out my fluids tomorrow

If you just drain and refill and AT tranny you will only change about 50% of the fluid. So you can either do it more often, or do a real flush to get all the fluid inside the converter changed. Probably best to have a shop do that work. I've done it myself on other cars by removing the inlet line to the trans cooler and following this process:
- first drain and refill the trans with fresh fluid
- next remove the inlet hose and route to bucket
- start engine in P and let run for 20-30 seconds - long enough to pump out ~1 quart (helpful to have a second person watching to tell you when to shut off the engine - great job for your kids btw)
- now add 1 quart fresh fluid
- repeat until the fluid coming out the line looks fresh and new
- then top off the trans to normal fill, reconnect the hose and you are done

It isn't all that hard, but it takes a bit of time. I see no reason why that process would not work on a Titan.

Good luck!!
