no it doesnt void your warranty...depends on what kind you get, suspension/bodylift? fabtech, cst, fox, king, rancho, procomp, etc etc etc

Re: Lift void my warranty?

The dealer cannot legally deny your warranty because of the lift. Read the following...

Re: Lift void my warranty?

exactly...the only stuff that 'voids' the orginal warranty would be...you put on aftermarket parts..and the aftermarket parts blow..your nissan warranty wont cover that stuff

but i am curious, what kind of 6" lift are you looking to get?

Re: Lift void my warranty?

No. They have to prove the part caused the failure.

Re: Lift void my warranty?

I was going to make the same post. i was told by my dealership that if i wanted to get a lift on my truck it = void of my warranty.

so this isnt true?

edit. read in another post that they bs'd me. lame why the hell would they say that. my gf went to take her pathfinder in for service and she asked them about it and they told her the same thing about it voiding the warranty

Re: Lift void my warranty?

Find a different dealer who's not so close minded. Even if a mod didn't cause the failure, it sounds like you'd have a hell of a fight with that dealer.

Re: Lift void my warranty?

Unfortuntely, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act means squat to most dealers. Depending on the lift, it CAN put undo stress on certain parts and can void part or all of the warranty by the dealer...LEGALLY. The dealer has to do nothing more than state extra stress caused by the aftermarket parts caused the failure..period. You may be able to take them to court and fight it but....lol....that's not very cost effective. I've seen window regulators not covered because of VentVisors that fit inside the window tracks. I've also seen (at a Nissan dealership) a MAF sensor not covered because of a K&N filter being over-oiled.
So don't be so fast to quote the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Dealers deny warranty service all the time, and get away with it. Having said that, most won't bother you about it. If they do, just reverse the mod and bring it in.
I'm playing devils advocate though!

Re: Lift void my warranty?

And to take it one step further, don't I remember something about Nissan having a third party arbitrator or something if me and the dealer disagree? Was that about warranty stuff? And also IIRC, that's binding. If I'm right, it would preclude your ability to sue in many (or most) cases I'd think.
