I'm curious about this too, John. Is the $650 the installed price for those of us in SoCal?

Next stop was Demello Offroad in Corona, not far from my home. Took my truck by and they made up a custom set. Mounted to the frame at five points and welded on for extra strength. These guys specialize in rock sliders and other custom work including winch bumpers, etc., geared mainly for Toyota's. They know what they're doing and have made literally hundreds of rock sliders.

Here's a link to their website:

If you ring them up, ask for Jason the owner. Nice guy and a true professional. The Titan is a HEAVY rig, so these are made extra sturdy. He's selling them for $650, though if one of you want to arrange a group buy, he's ready to deal.

Pics are attached with more to follow in next e-mail.

Regards,

John
Those look very good and are not too much more than some nerfs, (like N-Fab), yet with 5 attachment points to the frame, they'll will be much stronger than any nerf. What I really like is the wheel to wheel design, which will allow easy bed access behind the cab.

Re: We have Rock Sliders!!!!!

Sorry for the WAY late reply guys but you'd have to ask Jason about the price. He charged me $650 installed and I'd be willing to be he'd do the same for you guys. I paid a bit extra to have the first "failed" set made by another fab shop cut off my truck.

Regards,

John

Re: We have Rock Sliders!!!!!

I'm sort of paranoid about having some local yokel weld on my frame. Do you know if the bolt on version uses clamps, or requires drilling into the frame?

Re: We have Rock Sliders!!!!!

Not familiar with how the bolt on version connects. You'd have to call Jason to ask him. The brackets are the same, they just drill a hole in them for the bolts.

I have to say though the welded on version will be stronger. Our Titans are VERY heavy trucks. Any local muffler shop should have a good welder who can fasten these on. It's not that hard. Anyone good with either a MIG or TIG welder can easily handle it. The welder from Demello who put mine on made the nicest welds I've ever seen.

Regards,

John

Re: We have Rock Sliders!!!!!

It's been almost 18 months since I put them on and they've held up great. I've scraped the hell out of them crossing over large rocks/boulders and they haven't budged.

One added benefit is they provide quite a lot of rigidity and extra strength to the frame and side of the truck. I appreciate that when I'm carrying my 3 year old in the rear seat. It would take one hell of a whack for them to crush the side of the truck enough to reach him in the middle.

Regards,

John

Re: We have Rock Sliders!!!!!

did anyone see Stacey davids Gears this morning on speed channel? he installed rock sliders on a jeep that bolted to the body mounts.
I cant find a link and not sure i can explain it right, but there's a piece of tubing (capped on one end with 3 holes in it) you pull the bolt and large washer off the mount along with the 2 nuts next to it. the sliders are built off of those two pieces so no welding to the frame is required and they seemed very stout.
looking at the mounts on the titan this same design could be used.

Here's a couple of older pics. Truck looks the same except I sold the OEM rims and installed 17" AR, Chrome Chambers.
