Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

The dealer called today....

I specified an add-in bedliner on the '07 SE I ordered. He has found one with the Utility Bed package (has everything else I want) and wants to know if I'm interested. What do you all think of the spray-on liner? Better? The same? Worse?

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

Personally, I'd go with the spray-on. The utility bed is sweet, too, however if you don't really care about that then I'd suggest going aftermarket for it, such as Rhino Liner or Line-X. My initial impression of the factory spray-in is that it's not sprayed on quite as thick as an aftermarket, but I'm not 100% sure.

The slide-in bedliners help almost as much as they hurt. Rocks get underneath and rub away the paint, moisture gets trapped underneath and causes rust (Now that you've had rocks expose bare metal). All in all, I'd avoid the slide-in.

Ditto!

I've had both and in my opinion spray on is the only way to go.

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

I'd go bare metal over a plastic slide-in. I had a slide-in for about 10 years in my old Chevy, and after taking it out, the bed looked like someone had tried to destroy it on purpose.

The factory spray-in is the way to go imo, but seems less durable than most aftermarket spray-ins I've seen. I have several scratches and gashes from simply pulling stuff in and out.

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

I'm a LINE-X dealer.

The factory Nissan bedliner (by PPG) is WAY thinner than LINE-X or Rhino. I know, I've repaired a few of them. If you decide to get LINE-X, you'll get a nationwide lifetime warranty.

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

Am I correct to assume you can add an aftermarket spray-in liner over the factory liner?

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

Actually, no, that would not be appropriate. The factory liner should be removed first and then the new liner installed.

Re: Spray-on or add-in bedliner?

Same here... I would recommend Spray on liner.
