Re: GPS options

i went with iway 350 for about $300.00. touchscreen and it has never failed me plus if you are into mp3s, it stores and plays them. runs from rechargeable batt. and 12v cord.

Re: GPS options

funny this got bumped, I was going to go to fry's last night and get the Clarion NICE but I hung up at Costco because now i'm drooling over a 62in Mitsubishi lcd HD tv. cant really dig up much yet for research on the web. Maybe it's new? the WD-62530 for $1599

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it this week, and prolly the Clarion gps too. just gotta double check the bank accts and figure out if that particular model is worth the cash, it's the cheapest of the really big models, thats not always such a good thing maybe?

Re: GPS options

so many threads on other forums on titantalk re: GPS ( since you can't search with just "GPS" ) so your OP was an easy reply...

the text to talk feature is a must for me (Garmin has it - not sure about Clarion or iway ) In Cali - many of the exit numbers come AFTER you pass/approach the off ramp - so having the "turn right or exit Main St" (vs. exit 54 OR next exit...) steered me to Garmin. Handsfree Bluetooth on the nuvi 360 was a "nice to have" that has become a "need to have" feature.

BTW - Costco has Garmin ( me thinks only on their website ) Magellan is avaialble at the warehouse...

OT -the Mitsu WD is an awesome TV at an awesome price!!!

Re: GPS options

Ive been using the Garmin C340 and love it. Needed a bigger memory stick but all in all good for the price. Works of both battery or cig liter but is not waterproof.

Re: GPS options

I have the TomTom 700 and although I think their all a rip-off pricewise, this one works very well...better options than the stock GPS system (and MUCH cheaper), bluetooth, touchscreen, birds eye views, much more on-screen info and can be updated using USB port on your computer.

Re: GPS options

I got a GPS unit that hooks to my laptop for christmas...I'll let you know how it works out.

I think laptops and vehicles are a great mix. If only a quality low cost mount could be had...hmmmmm????

i have this same nav, but i've never needed to use the memory stick function. what do you usually use it for? extra maps? i haven't really researched it.
