Just curious if anyone is really pleased or really pissed at an aftermarket GPS system? I've heard good things about the Sony system, like 400 bucks at Frys?

I have an aftermarket Eclipse GPS/Stereo/DVD/CD system. I'm pleased with it. It was installed by the dealer and was in the truck when I first saw it. The thing I like about this particular unit is that is fits very nicely with the dash. It actually looks like original equipment. It has good graphics and functions and the sound and video quality (in DVD mode) is very good.

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
My Truck didn't come with the NAV system and sometimes i think to myself, Damn, shouldn't i got a NAV system? The interior looks complete with it. My 03' Accord has a Nav system and can't live without it. But i came to realization spend over 3,500k as an option to the addition to my truck or go aftermarket?? The Clarion NICE is a nice system but what if i sold the truck?? Well, now that Xmas is coming up all the portable nav systems are going down in price. I decided on going with this:
Garmin C550
I like the built-in features such as: BlueTooth speakerphone, Integrated Traffic receiver, and many other options. This stuff you can't do with the stock unit. BestBuy & Circuit City has them listed for $699 down $100 bucks from last month. Best of all... You can take it from car to car. As soon as i get it i'll post my reviews.
i've got the Garmin c340, looks same as the two posted above. i LOVE this thing! best investment i've made in a while. i love that i can switch between my truck & my wife's car. the built in function of this nav are superior to what i've read about most other nav's, but then again i haven't experienced any other nav.
this garmin saved my life this past summer as i was in several different cities & didn't have time to fool around with maps
i also like that you can easily tuck it into your suitcase & pull it out to throw into your rental car on business trips/vacations. shows you everything from parking to nearest gas stations to shopping & sightseeing! i highly recommend this baby, or another garmin like it. my 340 was about $500 from circuitcity.com
Does the Nuvi660 only work on batteries or can you run power to the unit? Or does it allow you to run under 12V cigarette charger? Spec's show battery life of 3-7 hours.

Plugs into the vehicle,it's rechargeable. The 3-7 hour life you read of is if you're using it away from a wired (car/desktop) power source.
All in all, a beautiful piece of technology.

Santa brought a nuvi 360 - awesome system - bluetooth setup (handsfree answer, and calling to POI, address book or direct dial) with my 8700g Blackberry was a breeze. The install was easy as well - I use the ProClip system on all my vehicles for phones, iPods, and now GPS...
