Wiring Power Locks/ Keyless

Hi,
I have seen a few posts where you guys mention installing aftermarket power locks. I need wiring help, and cant find anything on the internet. Does anyone know where I can find Titan specific wiring information? I want to have an idea what Im getting into before I take everything apart.
Thanks,

Re: Wiring Power Locks/ Keyless

If you read other post on this topic I suggested to run a seperate deticated, fused power source from the battery. This way you will not take the risk in damaging vital equipment. Are you going to install factory or aftermarket parts?

Re: Wiring Power Locks/ Keyless

Its an aftermarket kit. So I should run a dedicated line straight to the battery, ok. Where can I pick one of those up at? The kit is suppose to come with a relay is that what you are talking about? How about splicing into the parking lights and horn? Is there a harness in the titan already that I can plug into, Ive seen online some vehicles already have one.
Thanks for your help.

You can get some 12 or 10 guage wire and fuse holder at any autoparts place. Then connect fuse to + side battery and run wire through firewall into your window relay. Also this power could be used for the locks as well. Its realy not a good idea to use power from another existing accessory on the truck. Those motor can draw some amps while in opperation and should have a fused soure of their own. The relay could be swithed by an accessory that is controlled by the ignition switch.

Re: Wiring Power Locks/ Keyless

OK, I think Im catching on. I have hooked up a few stereos over the years and am semi familiar with running the hot wire. So in order for the keyless entry to say honk the horn, or blink the parking lights I would have to splice those wires? Or is that not a good idea. I don't want to go slicing up my new truck or anything but I would really love to be able to have keyless entry. I am still looking for a diagram on wiring for the titan hopefully I can find something before I take it into the operating room
Thanks for all your help guys, I know this is a stupid subject to be discussing over and over, I will try and take pictures of all steps involved and maybe that will help someone in the future.
