I was just wondering with a lot of information out there now on the new Tundra, how you think the Titan measures up? To my knowledge right now Titan can bost: most ft. lbs of torque (from any current V-8), most HP, best sounding factory exhaust, and cool looks to boot. Now, these are all my opinions based on what I have read and think. I would like to know what you guys think. Especially those that money is not the object (could own any full sized pickup at the drop of a hat), I mean I am stuck in mine for a while so naturally I better claim its superiority
Nissan Rules!!!!!!! the new tundra will be a beast from what i have read... 10,500lb towing capacity, ive heard of anywhere from 350-400HP, (guess we'll have to see) but a Tundra capable of performing equal to a Titan will probably cost alot more (like $10,000 more in my thinking) so that puts the Titan on top in my opinion
dont forget the creature comforts. want leather and a moon roof on toyota? good luck, I hope you know a custom shop that wont bend ya over and "service the customer" Oh yah, Nissan offers it cheaper than Toyota without
I half way wish I'd forced my deal to have a Titan with the moon roof, but 1k more for something not even in stock in all of SoCal was just not something I really felt like waiting for. I'm probably one the very few people who ever woke up the next morning after buying a new truck, planning only city driving and started dancing... it rained and I got to drive to work dry, comfy and stereo, and no tunnel visioned idiots were almost accidently running me over.
no knowledge on the new 07 tundra, but the 06 tundra vs titan was a no brainer for me. The tundra has dated looks, camry-like interior, and i didn't like the drive. The power was pretty good, and the interior wasn't as cramped as i expected. But i got a entry-level SE (desperate to get out of the tundra extra cab i had), but didn't get the BT option (only one i wanted, but didn't think it was necessary...regret that) and the price was 26K. However, after tax/license, and the negative equity on my old tundra, i financed 32K, interest of 7% over 5 years...only put 1500 down
If i had to do it all over again, only thing i would do is get the BT package

I dunno. I stopped at the Toyota dealer with my wife to look for a car for her. I knew one of the saleman there as I spoke to him when he used to work at the Nissan dealership. He ranted about the Titan when he was with Nissan, and now rants about the '07 Tundra.
Well, as I started to get tired of his pitch. I finally had to say that it was about time Toyota stepped up to the plate, but I was disappointed with the 5 bolt wheels and c-channel frame. While no answer on the wheels, he was quick to state of the high grade, high strength steel used in the c-channel and is as strong if not stronger than the competitions boxed frame rails. Even if this were true, I would have preferred to see a massive truck with a more substancial frame, especially for a claimed 10,000 lb towing capacity.
I am very happy with Nissan's offering and would have a hard time moving over to the Toyota. Based on other model comparisons between Toyota and Nissan, staying open minded about those comparisons I still tend to favor the Nissan product line. The '07 Altima dollar for dollar is a nicer car over the '07 Camery, and I still feel the Titan fits better for my needs than the promise of the new Tundra.
