Re: Coolant Smell during Defrost

so today they fixed my radiator and also diagnosed that leaking hose... its a PRESSURE HOSE for the POWER STEERING FLUID. and they have to order it ... the hose alone is 140.00 bucks and then the cost to install it is 180.00.. I assume the hose is so expensive because its a pressure hose.. but im just guessing...... so i have to go bakc once the part comes in for them to fix it.. atleast its covered under warranty.

Another thing that happened to me today which made me late in taking my truck to the dealer is my battery was dead when i tried to start it this morning.... i've got about 45000 miles on my truck so i guess its about time to replace the batt. ... but the dealer wanted to charge me 43.00 to check it and then if it needed to be fixed it would have been 138.00 bucks for batt./install... so i declined on the batt test and took it to autozone and got it tested for free and bought a batt. for 87.00 total with tax and they even installed it for me at no extra cost.... 87.00 bucks sure beats out 138.00 bucks for a batt. I also picked up a new set of wipers while i was there. bosch icons is the brand and they are awsome .. i cant speak for the long term but they wokred better than any wiper ive ever used on any vehicle .... they are pricey but i think they are worth it .. thye were absolutley silent and left no streaks or anything of the sort. i know htey are new out of the box and ofcourse they are gonna do that but it just seemed better than anything i have bought before... so far....
here are some links to the blades... and if you doi a search im sure youll find more on them

Re: Coolant Smell during Defrost

okay so im driving my truck yesturday and i punch the gas and i get this huge vibration /hum coming from the front of the truck ... i punched it a few more times just to see if i could tell where it was coming from ... and yes its coming from the radiator.... how you say ... well i dont know how but after i let my truck cool i went to look under the hood .. and i check to see if the radiator is loose... and sure enough i can move it around just by grabbing the spout on the top of the radiator... i assume they forgot some bushings or somthing like that ... never the less .. my part came in for the powersteering hose and im taking the truck in again tomorrow morning for them to fix the hose and also look into the radiator and get that fixed to ...

i would be a little more upset had i not had another reason for going back to the dealer for anohter fix... but since i gotta go anyway it kinda works itself out .. this time around....

ill let yall know how everything comes out.

Re: Coolant Smell during Defrost

so i took the truck to the dealer and they fixed the hose but could not pin point wherethe vibration was coming from and told me they need more time with it but i could not stick around anymore.. so now i have to take it bakc again another day....just for them to fix somthing that was not broken untill i let them work on it... this sucks

this always happens to me when i take the truck in ... they never find the problem the first time.. and i always have to take it bakc for the same thing at least twice.
