Why I hate my Titan

I have an 04 KC SE which I got early in 04, from the first day I got it I have had problems. It all started with the drivers and passengers' windows not going back up. I recently got my paperwork together and realized that I have taken it in for that problem alone seven times, and its still not fixed, actually it's even worse. Like most others I had the brake judder problem early on, and it took two tries and many trips to the dealership to get that fixed. So far it has lasted. Along with many other cosmetic problems that were eaither fixed, or I have learned to deal with. Dont get me wrong I love going out of my way to take my car into a dealership that is very rude and unhelpful, where I have to get a ride from someone else since they don't have shuttle service or coutesey cars. I am really fed up with it now and am looking into the lemon law, so I can get some money back. When I first got my truck I loved it and thought it was superior to all other trucks, but now I can safely say, when it comes to trucks chevy and ford beat all others.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

New truck...new plant...new workers. One expects a few issues on a first year model, regardless of who makes it.

Try another dealer...and to be fair, the brake judder parts didn't become available till the summer of '04 nationwide....prior to that time, dealers were replacing the warped rotors with the same ones...or turning the warped rotors.

My first Titan was bought in March 2004...a loaded SE KC that had no problems. I only traded it off because I needed more interior space.

I've owned my current truck since 12/29/05...not one issue...the fit is much better, tho the paint still needs improvement.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

I hate to hear that 411....I have an `04 LE CC 4X4 with 55,000 miles and have had no problem other than a transmission cooling line with a leak that took two years to show up...I had heard about the brake problem but had no trouble so i called the stealership and they asked if i had the brake fix...I had 50,000 so i took it in for the free rotors and brakes even though no problems they fixed them...Sorry for your problems on such an awesome truck....
I have had the same problems and even worse on Fords, Chevys, and Dodges over the years that you are experiencing now....Guess it is kinda like luck of the draw on any vehicle...Good Luck !!!

Re: Why I hate my Titan

I in agreement with BKW. It was the first year of the truck. You should expect some bugs to be worked out. Besides the big 3 still have there problems. I used to work at a Chevy dealer and we would get vehicles from the factory that wouldnt even start. The factory would send all the paper work for the problems for us to fix. I think NISSAN has done a good job resolving their problems in 2 model years.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

Your chances of getting a "lemon" in a Ford or Chevy are twice as great than the Titan. If you don't want it get rid of it. For all of us other Titan fans, sorry to hear about your problems. We love our Titans, "your why I hate my Titan", isn't going to change our opinion.

Good luck

Re: Why I hate my Titan

Seems like your dealers service dept is the biggist problem.

Still, it sucks to have to deal with it. If possible take it to another dealer and have an open mind with them.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

If a person is spending $30,000 +/- for a vehicle why should we "expect" there to be problems? The only thing I expect is for the vehicle to be relatively problem free. A vast majority of the major bugs should be worked out before it is sold to the consumer.

I don't get you people that think it is OK just because it is a first year model. You must have a lot of money and time to throw around. I know I sure don't.

I agree 100% on your first statement. But rarely will you find any new vehicle today that is perfect. Vehicles are so complicated today...that even with $90,000.00 Bar diagnostic machines...dealers are strained to keep up with new technology. Good techs are also getting very hard to find. That's a major reason that powertrain warranties are 5/60...and notice that just recently both Ford, Chrysler and GM started longer P/T warranties. Nissan, Toyota etc have offered a 5/60 or 5/50 warranty for over 10 years...maybe longer.

I'm 62 years old...and I've spent most of my life in the car biz...my family were new car dealers for 80 years.

That said...It's well known in the Industry that first year models will have problems...people are human, and must adapt to building a new model.

Nissan has fixed major issues as soon as parts have become available...they're doing a decent job.

I can tell you from my 37 years with Ford, that they, GM and Chrysler have worse records than Nissan..and some of the problems I've read about in Automobile Trade Journals (not car mags), like warped rotors on F150's, severe axle wrap on Chevies, and faulty auto trans' and front suspension issues on Rams, still haven't been fixed to customers satisfaction.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

sounds like you and "skyhammer" from the CR thread should hold hands and go get yourself some new bowties! i am so sick of hearing why you all"hate" your TITAN's. if you hate it so much then get rid of it. dont try and rain on everyone elses parade because you had a couple problems. there are plenty of people here that have your exact same truck that love it.

I think it's just the Dealership giving a bad ownership experience! If you think you going be better off with a chevy than good luck bro! You jumping from a small flame with the Nissan into a frikken INFERNO with the Chevy's. Think about it...Why you think GMC was going into bankruptcy and the Gov't had to bail them out? Because their vehicles suck! HAHA Nah! I mean that they had alot of problems with their vehicles that turned the market away from them.

Re: Why I hate my Titan

Chrysler went bankrupt and the Gov't bailed them out...but I've read nothing about GM being bailed out by the US Gov't.

What's your reference?

Re: Why I hate my Titan

You think cars are bad try owning a aircraft. I've been working on helicopters for 18 years and you always have to do alot of maintenance to keep them flying.

Find one word that I posted that said I hate my Titan. I simply stated why I agreed with with CR said about the Titan and why. I am not happy with the Titan, but I certainly don't hate it. The Titan performs well except for the things I mentioned and I have posted many times in other threads to prove it.
Inferring what someone says with with out the full context ( over 2.5 years of posts on this forum) is foolish.
I wasn't aware that we are only to post positive views of the Titan On this forum. Yes, I am inferring from your post that you don't wish to hear of anyone who has had a bad or less than satisfying experience with the Titan.
While I don't want to rain on your precious parade, some of us who have experienced some bad weather(with the Tian), and aren't going to act like we didn't.
If you are sick and tired of reading my posts, there is a feature on the forum that allows you to ignore me.
Other wise expect more posts from me that run from foul weather to fair, clear and sunny weather.
