You'll need an UpRev ECU Reflash or something similiar to achieve that 125 to test your bugshield!
To be truthful, I was on my way to Miami from Orlando and doing about 100mph on one stretch, somewhere around Melbourne. A late model Maxima passed me and was "testing" me to see what my Titan could do. He got up to 120mph and maxed out and I slowly passed him doing 125 on the odo. But this is for another thread.
Don't know if it's because I have the Big Tow or not. But I quickly brought it down before the next overpass in case there were any Higway Patrol around. Want to mention that it wasn't as loud (exhaust and wind noise) as I thought it would be. I also expected my computer to shut down the engine like my '02 Frontier used to do at 86mph.

There's no way your '02 Frontier shut down at 86 mph...Sorry, just ain't true. I had the same Frontier and it shut down at 112mph...I was a member of a Frontier board (TUNFS) for 5 years and everyone's cut off at 110+...I also find it hard to believe you got your Titan to 125, when everyone else says there's cuts off at 115, but if you say so...Try doing that from 0-125mph...You probably got it up so fast because you were already going 100mph and you already had momentum going or something like that.
I have the Nissan one and love it. Everyone should have one (not necessarily the factory one)...it keeps the hood mint. You don't even notice the flathead screws.

Try telling my wife that. She refuses to let me put one on her Pathfinder.
I have one and didn't like the screws either so I just put those little plastic cover things that fit in the screw heads and it covers them up completely. You've probably got some in a tool box I actually took mine from an old office chair and they fit perfectly.

Dear Mrs. TitanThunder,
Please allow Mr. TitanThunder to purchase and install a Nissan hood deflector for your Pathfinder. It will be a lifesaver...especially if you drive on highways where rocks etc can be thrown up onto the hood area. If you don't like the looks of it, there are MANY different ones out there in different designs and colors. They're cheap and you won't be sorry. Now....let Mr. TitanThunders "jellybeans" go and allow him to spend the $75 or so!
Your truely,
Mr. HudsonValleyTitan

Yeah, much more complicated bugshield than my old AVS's, I had to read the instructions for this one. Looks real good though, and strong.
Yep....just a little over 110 and it just stops accelerating....now it makes sense!
Energizer,
I'm new to the world of Titans (and trucks for that matter) but I like the looks of your bug shield. When I try to open the link in your previous response I get an error message. Do you have any details re: the make/model of your bug shield? Thanks in advance!
i like that the shield doesn't tuck under the hood lip and allow water and trash to accumulate. i looked at several and chose the factory one. got it from a Nissan dealer for $78.
Does anyone know if the '04 hood protector will fit an '08? I took mine off after it was totaled but haven't yet put it on the new ride yet. I'll also need the mounting hardware if anyone has any suggestions on where I could get just that without having to get the whole kit.

OEM bugshield or Aftermarket, both seem to say that they reduce dirt, insect and road debris.
I am considering one for my truck, and my main concern is stone chips on the hood. Do these Bugshields really do a good job at reducing this? And are they worth the $70 or $80?
