HA Reed Nissan tried hitting me with this $75 fee...they lost the deal on that. Hell the finance guy said it was required by law.
LOL...$75.00 isn't bad....some clown of a Ford salesman recently told a friend of mine who was in the process of buying a Stupor Duty that the $800.00 doc fee was the FoMoCo Acquistion Fee!!
My friend looked the guy in the eye, and said,,"You want me to believe that I have to pay an additional 800 bucks to acquire the truck?"
Friend bought elsewhere. The sumb!tch called him several times, telling him they'd take the fee off..you can guess his answer.
IMO if a dealer wont fill up your tank on a sale then the $75 should be waived.
The final straw was when the finance main said.."hey man its only $4 a month!"
my reply....' are you going to send me a check for 4$ a month?"
pause....
me: "were done im not doing buisness with you."
21500 OTD is 21500 OTD not 21575..,,, My roommate called me a religous name as he chuckled and we walked out....I walked 2 days later with a better truck for 19250 at another dealer

1. The dealer never talks about The Fee during negotiations...it only shows up on the contract. Most people never question The Fee, just sign and go.
2. What is a Doc Fee? Basically the dealer expects you, the customer to pay their employees to type the contract...That's what it's all about.
3. The cost...varies from $25.00 to "the skies the limit." Some states regulate the fee, most do not.
4. The bald face lies/excuses/reasons the dealer gives you when you question what The Fee is all about. Every dealer has a different story, none are truthful.
Would you deal with a lying, cheating, crooked SOB? Yes...because everyone that buys a vehicle new or used does...every day.

Something to consider.
you got that right...
my dealer's doc fee only showed up at signing, and their contracts are printed with $300 in bold for doc fee - wish I had had the guts to walk away. That what happens when you are in love - loss of judgement...

Frankly it's all about your willingness to haggle.
I think mine tacked on like 50 dollar signing fee.
Looking back, I could have got my truck for about $300 cheaper had I haggled for weeks...but then I wouldn't have been testing out the back seat that night now would I? heh heh 300 well spent in my book.
I like to post info up here so that others don't get screwed. Buy your truck right around invoice, get a decent finance rate, and you should be fine. Read too much about what other people bought for and you'll just get pissed cause you'll feel ripped off unless you get the steal of the century..
To each their own right?
Most people who got REALLY good deals either bought unpopular options off the lot, have some crappy color (well lucky them if they like the crappy colors), bought late in the model year, or bought a "new" truck with 200 or so miles on it...

The most frequent Doc fee story I get is that "the manager won't remove it, everybody has to pay it". So I just reply, "fine, then take $xxx.xx (whatever doc fee is) off the purchase price of the truck itself, then I'll happily pay the doc fee." For whatever reason, this has worked flawlessly with the past 3 vehicles I have bought.

Exactly right. When they showed me the truck I actually bought, it had the exact package (except for color) that I wanted. Late in 2006 model year, not many choices - I feel lucky I got it. I just let the "business guy" talk me into a lot of $#IT - but, I was in love by then.
The only way to keep haggling is to be willing to walk away. I did that on my SHO and got a steal. Not caring (or pretending to) is best, and actually get up, thank them for their time, mention a trip to their competition, and head for door. They ALWAYS call you back...

Yeah I feel ya there, I told my salesman: "you dont want to sell me this truck do you?" and he said "sure I do" to which I replied "Not for 32,650 you dont!" Thats when the fun started!

how about a section on were to post stuff. Talking about the Tundra for instance should be off topic. Any joke/funny/car crash video should be off topic.
Being that you have been around this site for a while you could make a list.

I dunno, first, I have found very few folks even look at this, and I would think it would be especially rare for someone who doesn't understand there are multiple areas of titantalk to click here.
I mean, the areas have CLEAR F**KING NAMES for crying out loud:
Titan General Discussion, Offroad/Suspension, Performance, Audio, For Sale, Offtopic. I mean, if that doesn't clue people in....what will?
This Post is kick A$$ ADavis. Answered about 3 of my Questions in 2 min. Very helpfull. I think the name of the post is what throws people off tho. Honestly I almost skipped over it if I didnt do a search...
