Some people = Too dumb to live....

This is in no way a slight to women in general or minivan drivers, but this broad in a Chrysler GC this morning sure didn't help your image any.

It was early and traffic was light on the highway. Cars were well spaced and moving nicely. I had my cruise control set on 62 and was approaching my exit. I noticed headlights coming up behind me, not fast, but slowly gaining on me. Near my exit, a minivan pulls out to pass as I kill the cruise, put my signal on and let the truck coast a little toward the offramp.

As I'm slowing down, she pulls her side slider even with my front bumper and slows down as well. Now I'm wondering what the he11 she's doing. She starts waving, motioning that she wants to get over in front of me, like people do sometimes in slow bumper-to-bumper traffic during rush hour. I'm like, "WTF, lady?! There's nobody in front or behind me for half a mile, at least. Don't you know where your brake pedal is to tuck in behind me? If you're getting off at this exit, why'd you even start passing me?"

At this point, I'm on the ramp entrance approaching the curve and she's still aside of me, motioning me that she wants over. So I back off a little to let her in. She hits the brakes hard like she just saw a kid run into the street chasing a ball and veers over in front of me without even being clear! I swerve to the right onto the shoulder and come almost to a stop as she continues up the ramp.

When we go around the ramp and onto the road again, it's a four-lane near the local airport. I pull into the passing lane to prepare for my left turn into the industrial park, and she's keeping up with me in the slow lane honking the horn to get my attention so she can use her driving finger on me. I just look at her and shake my head....

Euthanization for stupid people...... ...... Let's try to make it happen people. Your support will help.

Re: Some people = Too dumb to live....

I agree, unfortunately if she's driving a minivan it sounds like this moron has already reproduced....a damn shame.

This country could use a little chlorine in the gene pool.

Its the worst when someone is stupid and doesnt even realize that they are the idiot.

This story has made my BP rise about 12 points.

The idiots who will cut you off, rather than fall into the 3 miles of open lane behind you, is 1 of my biggest driving peeves.
Glad you suffered no damage.

Re: Some people = Too dumb to live....

BB - glad you are OK. The fact that you are alert probably kept you from being seriously injured. The mini van driver probably had her morning helping of "mother's little helper pills" to get her in shape for the ride and dealing with the kids all day. Those puppy uppers she probably takes leaver her a few pups short of a pet shop. They also help keep the weight off so she does not become a "Titan tailgate tester" and her hubby divorce her. This type of driver keeps our hospital ER full most of the time.

Re: Some people = Too dumb to live....

My pet peeve:

People who insist on driving in blizzards in snow country with a 2WD and all season radials (should be illegal to use that designation with other than snow rated tires). The last snow storm, I waited until past rush hour to come home (with 4wd & studded tires), but it was like a freakin' video game or something. Cars were stuck blocking the hgwy on ramp, spinning around and going the wrong way on the hgyway, stuck sideways in the middle of the road, sliding sideways down the hills. Other imbeciles were trying to push stuck cars down the road, instead of off the road (exactly how many miles did they plan on pushing them?)

Re: Some people = Too dumb to live....

Was she on her cell phone too BB? lol My pet peave is when I'm coming up to an exit. The only exit to another major thouroughfare from the one I'm on. Exiting to the right so Im' in the right of the two lanes, the left being the offramp for the lanes going the other way. Most of the traffic going same way as me, so the line I've been in is quite long, left lane clear and flowing. After I've been waiting, a car flys by in the left lane and gets right to the "Y" and then puts on the blinker to force their way in to the front of the line I've been waiting my turn in. I HATE that.

Re: Some people = Too dumb to live....

You have my support...

Thing is i've noticed when i am doing less than 80, i encounter these idiots myself. I just try to avoid the slow lanes altogether if possible..

I have been pushed away many times and had to brake because somebody didn't have a clue this lane was exit only since 5 miles, but i haven't had them wave at me. I usually see them and have it on my mind that they will do something stupid.. and sure enough, they do it. Either slow down or change lanes. I am often prepared though, which isn't much of a consolation

That has to be mine as well. I dont understand why people dont merge when the first signs TWO MILES AWAY are saying that one lane is closed. I hardly ever let anyone in if I see that is what they are attempting. Unfortunately the cars with only one straight piece of sheet metal are hard to block out since they dont give a damn about their vehicles or yours. But the jerkoffs with BMW's and Porches dont usually push the issue when I'm in my truck.
