Angry In my first accident with the titan

I just backed into the neighbors ford Taurus, i am so pissed at myself. its been 11 months 18 days since i brought it home. Neighbor wasn't to happy, obviously!!!!! its a good thing we're good friends/neighbors, cops arrived because she want it for her insurance but i explained and reassured her that i would cover all damage out of my own pocket. cop said that was fine and left and no ticket was issued. whew!!!!!! here are some photos of damage to both vehicles. notice the damage to hers compared to my minor scuff on the bumper (corner) and the corner on plastic. i was going about 2mph before i heard the glass breaking.

Re: In my first accident with the titan

That sucks dude...Man, imagine what the Taurus would look like if she got T-boned at an intersection.. Too bad you didn't total the car and force her to buy a safer car!

Start searching the junk yards for a Taurus door. I don't think that will be too hard at all..Hell you could probly buy the door, replace it yourself and just pay to get it painted to match.

Re: In my first accident with the titan

speaking of T-bone, last sunday on highway here in alaska, after looking at photo of vehicle, subaru wagon lost control of her vehicle, hit the gaurd rail slid sideways onto oncoming vehicle which happened to be a what looked like a 04-05 CC titan, not sure had 6 spoke wheels. anyways her car was split in half, for real, i mean it looked like it was sliced in half with a knife. couldn't see what happend to the Titan. sadly the women and her 7yr. old child died, both people in the titan just got bruised up. Roads were icy.

Re: In my first accident with the titan

Dude! That beeping noise you're hearing isn't the radio! I love the backup sensors. I've avoided exactly this dozens of times because of them. One of the things I like best about this truck. Sorry about your wallet and the future emptiness it will feel but be thankful it's only the door. If you had backed into a joint, you'd have either 2 doors or a door/fender to replace.

Re: In my first accident with the titan

I backed into a minivan at the end of my driveway last summer, I felt dumb, and I have the back up sensors. I was so used to them picking up the curb, so I didnt think anything of it. pushed in the door and front fender on the van and put a small dent in my tailgate from her mirror. the cop had to ask if the titan was the vehicle that hit the van cuz there was no damage. he laughed and said he should buy one, then the *** gave me a $160 ticket.

Your back-up sensors pick up curbs?!?????
Are you dropped to the ground or something??

To the original poster: Give us more details! Those back up sensors should have been screaming like a radar detector on full alert!

Re: In my first accident with the titan

Sorry about your accident but those back-up sensors are great in tight parking lots and backing out of the house.

My sensors pick up the curb and the grass when I back into my parking lot at work. And no, the grass isn't 3' tall, it's only about 4-5 inches. And yes, I'm a stock 4x4 height.
