Scraping Noise When I Turn or Hit Brakes Hard!!!!
I just noticed this morning that when I hit the brakes hard or turn right there is a horrible scraping sound coming from the passenger front wheel. Has anybody had this problem? I just had the brakes checked when I had some warranty work done about two months ago and they still had alot of life left. Could this be the wheel bearing going out? Any thoughts??

My thought would be to jack up the right front, put it on a jackstand, then rotate the wheel and shake the wheel from top to bottom and side to side in search of unusual sound, play, roughness. Have somebody turn the steeling wheel while you are observing. Then pull the wheel and inspect the brake.

when the abs is activated it has a noise of grinding.

Last time I heard that noise it cost me almost 5 bills. Front hub bearing on my 03 4wd silverado. Tracked straight, didnt pull, turn the corner and grind, scrape, scrape, grind till I straightened the wheel out.

I would agree, front hub bearing or even a sticking caliper. Check rotation from driver and passenger.

If its a sticking caliper you will smell the brakes just walking by the truck. If you cant smell the brakes its probably not a stuck caliper, or you might need your nose checked.

I'm going to take it to the Nissan dealership on Monday. I had my dash and door panel off finishing up my remote start, so thats why I've put it off. I'll let you know on Monday.

Okay heres the verdict. Im an idiot. I went and looked at my back brakes today and they are done! I plan on doing the brakes Mon or Tues. For now I bent the indicator back just a hair to stop the noise.

Back brakes down to the wear indicator? How many miles do you have on yours? The front brakes usually go first as they do most of the work. It is odd the back brakes are out already.

My front brakes are pretty new. It had the brake issue and new ones were put on. The truck has 33k on it.

Im having the same problem, I had the brake fix done at about 3000 miles, now Im getting some grinding up front(25000miles). Keep us posted on if they cover your brakes under warranty, Im going to try to get mine in next week.

the other day i had to hit the brakes hard, and i did hear a grinding noise.
i kinda shrugged it off, but now im gonna give it a hard brake test and see if it happens again.
