Re: Offroad Roof Rack with/Pics!!!

I was looking for a overhead rack...only one problem though..I have a king cab. If you dont mind take some pics of the where you mounted it on the roof and measurements from front to back on the mounting points...it looks like it may be a bit too long to fit on a king cab though.

Thanks

Dave

Re: Offroad Roof Rack with/Pics!!!

ORU makes a lot of racks. Just get one that is 54" wide and however long you need for your truck. A 54" wide rack fits on the top of full size trucks just fine and is what is on my Titan in the pics. My rack is 60" long front to back.

If what you need is one that is 48" long front to back and they don't make one, you can always have them custom make one or maybe get a segmented on and do some cutting.

Go to Offroad Unlimited's website and check them out. You might give them a call to discuss too. Or call 4X4 Parts.com where I bought mine from. They'll know what you can do.

Regards,

John

Re: Offroad Roof Rack with/Pics!!!

Hey John, I also have been wanting a roof rack... Is your Titan a LE model? Do you have the side inpact air bags? I heard that it can be a problem when trying to install a rack... They may diploy!! Do you think it is true? How much did they charge to install the rack for you? Did you notice if the also have one that is with a lower profile?
Thanks
David

Re: Offroad Roof Rack with/Pics!!!

Yes, I have the LE with the side impact and rollover airbags. Be VERY careful when drilling the holes so that you don't drill down into the bag. At the rear of the truck, they are tucked right up under where you're drilling. Either remove the trim pieces up there and pull the bag down, or be extra careful from above.

I installed it myself so it was free and no, they don't make any other racks. Just these. If you go to their website I posted, you'll see.

Regards,

John

Re: Offroad Roof Rack with/Pics!!!

BTW, disconnect your battery and let the truck sit for 30 minutes so the capacitors in the airbag deployment system lose their charge.

Better safe than sorry.
