Re: 2 degree timing or Up Rev?

miketan -- great info. it is really starting to come together -- really appreciated (I'm sure by more people than would like to admit)!!!

so, if you get a chip, or generic flash, or send your ECU in, it is just that, generic tuning. UpRev will do the custom, and, with a programmer and a dyno and lots of money, you will one day be able to do the same - sans UpRev's experience, which is growing each tune. cool...

My SHO engine is indeed the Yamaha. It was way ahead of it's time. Came stock 210 HP @ 7000 rpm in normally aspiriated 3.0L - I know, but was a big deal in '89. the chip gave you over 300 HP at 12,000 rpm -- it was basically a really nice, big motorcycle engine. they raced the base engine (similar to the Titan) by dropping 2 turbos, getting, I heard but find hard to believe, over 1000 HP. same block, pistons, cams, etc... The engine runs as well today as it did in 91 -- it kept getting faster and faster the more I drove it. But, the rest is Ford, and it needs about $6k and tons of work to bring it back to form. One day...

You know, your info would make a nice sticky for this area...
