tonight i was driving to get a new game for the PS3 and i rolled up next to a 07 TUNDRA. tried to get him to race but he was not having it. now that they hit the streets i assume we will hear about it in WAR STORIES soon
I'm guessing its a factory test rig and they are trying to iron out the last few bugs. Now that its been shown a couple times publicly, no need to throw camo on it. I used to see pre-production vehicles all the time in my old college town months before they hit the lots. My cousin works in that town for a parts manufacturer and they had a new body silverado last xmas for testing.

same here. dealers have told me mid february, as well as the brochure. i call b.s., unless pics can be shown.
you can call BS all you want but i know what i saw. i was driving right next to it and stopped at a light right next to it. it was a white extended cab 4+4 model. i don't know if it was a prototype or a test unit but it was not covered at all. the truck had a TRP on it and it said 2007 TOYO! i think i read somewhere that the extended cab was going to be released before the crew cab model. i can tell you one thing for sure, i am not BSing....

Another reason he didn't want to race is maybe he doesn't have the 5.7 in there. Aren't there like 3 motors you can get?

There are quite a few test tracks in AZ....I'd be willing to bet the truck you saw was either coming back from one...or heading towards one.
Here is another possibility.
Several years ago...my wife and I were staying at The Boulders...a gated resort in the Cave Creek area north of Scottsdale. Ford was having a press only display of the then new F150...so we saw it first hand months before its introduction.
In 1987, at the same resort, Ford show cased several new Lincolns...allowing the press and invited guests to check them out, and drive them.
The remote location and the privacy gates keep away the lookie-loos. It's a possibility that Toyota is using The Boulders for the same reason.
i live like 10-15 minutes from the prooving grounds in the east valley. i dont know who owns the facility but i do know there are a lot of manufacturers using the place. HARLEY DAVIDSON is always out there doing testing. i work in the motorcycle busines and have a friend that all he does all day is tries to break harley's out there. he is always telling me he sees cool new car/trucks doing testing.

You should sneak into the test track and take a few spins one day.
