Word.

Just thought I'd sign up and see what happens in the Nissan truck world.

<~ 99 SVT Lightning

Previously owned an 01 V8 Tundra, and a few cars.

Anyways, hey all.

Re: Word.

Welcome inuswo ...... I am a big fan of Lightnings .... and wish I had a nice black one sitting in my driveway ..... a couple of years ago, not long after I got my Titan, I pulled up next to a red Lightning at a red light ..... before our light turned green, I floorboarded all 305hp of my mighty truck .... left that chump sittin' there with his ballcap all sideways on his head...... when I got up to about 60 mph, and still floorboarded, him and his "wickidy-wack" ballcap came blowing past me ..... his tires still squawling ......yep, I'd like to have me one of them Lightnings.

Re: Word.

If I could get over the issue I have with fords it might be cool to own a lightning, but I'd rather have a my Nissan with the big ole gob of torque down low where truckin really happens.

I've owned 3 ford trucks, and all had the 300 Inline. That was a workhorse of an engine. My 87 1/2 ton extended cab was painted mettallic blue, had 9" chrome mags, a 94 inline with forged crankshaft from a wrecked van, and a super smooth 4 speed manual. It would easily tow a 2200 pound trailer with a 5500 pound ford explorer onboard. It was the newest old truck I've owned, but it was always snapping brackets and things under the dash when I pressed the clutch, as well as melting fuse slots. Oh and to note, I have never seen one of those huge A/C units on a ford go out. My dads 79 still had working A/C with the stock freon!!

Thats my ford rant

Re: Word.

An inline engine will generally produce more torque than a V type.
