Engine Clicking Noise
Merry Christmas Everyone!! The last thread I started was about the Blizzard in Denver Colorado. Well, now I'm in the Mid-west for Christmas. I drove about 500 miles to Manhattan Kansas on Friday night and Saturday morning. Anyway, I was driving around yesterday and started to hear a different noise from the engine. A clicking noise. Nothing really to be alarmed about, just something I don't think I've heard from my engine before. It's a light clicking noise that sounds alot like the clicking from lifters. Is this something to address or to be concerned with? It's not real loud. I haven't gone to a different weight oil or anything. Is this a common sound from these engines? Again, I don't think I've ever heard it. I heard it again today so I'm pretty sure it's nothing I've heard before. What do you all think? Is this something you all hear or is it odd that it has just appeared? Or am I just losing it?!?!
Could this kind of noise be an indicator of a problem and something I should have looked at? You guys are extremely knowledgeable in this area and I'm looking at you guys for some direction on this. My truck has 16,000 miles on it. I've changed elevations with the drive, would that make any difference here?
