Is it worth buying polished wheels?

I have found an awesome deal on a set of Pro Comp 1079's. But, I'm just trying to make sure I don't make a mistake. Right now I have chrome wheels. For those who own polished wheels or have dealt with them before, is the up-keep and maintenaince really worth it? I don't mind taking 20 minutes or so out of my schedule once a month to polish them up.

Opinions? Suggestions??

Re: Is it worth buying polished wheels?

HAhahaHAHa.... 20 minutes??? Gonna take a little longer than that to polish them up. The only way I have been able to keep polished wheels all bling blingy is with zoop seal. It keeps them nice for a few months if not longer.

The No Fear wheels I bought a month ago, I had to spend 30 min on one wheel with the Mother's Powerball to get it to a nice shine.

Yeah, $540 shipped would be nice. But, I just don't know if all the polishing is worth it.

Re: Is it worth buying polished wheels?

Why not just get them for beater wheels then? Put some good muds on em and go tear them up while still having your nice chromies for the street bling.

Re: Is it worth buying polished wheels?

Polished wheels can look very nice if you keep after them. These are the 18" Billet Weld Wheels on my 1975 Firebird "restification" They buff out with Mother's and look like new with a power buffer and sheepskin pad - about 10 min per wheel before cruising.
