Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Just wondering if anyone has installed the VDC switch in a titan that did not come from the factory with it.
I went up in the snow this last weekend and I was fighting that darn thing the whole time, it was a real bummer. My lexus has the same thing but when I tunr the VDC off you can spin your tires until they fall apart (and they will ). From what I have read, the Titan works the same way. Iif I can turn the VDC off then that should stop the engine from closing the throttle body on me when I don't want it to.
My question is, has anyone who has taken the stereo trim apart noticed an extra wiring harness plug for the VDC switch? I have the rear lock, and tow switch, but the spot for the VDC switch is plugged. I found the VDC switch online. I'd just like to know if the harness is there before I rip everything apart

Thanks,
Y

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

If you have VDC, you already have a switch to turn it off don't you?

Are you confusing this with ABLS (which, as I recall relates to breaking being applied to slipping wheels, not sure of the affect it has on the TB)

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

I've never heard of it being pre-wired already into the harness.
There's not much you can do, IF you had VDC the switch would be there, no switch, no VDC...

Since you don't have VDC, you can't turn it off...

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Well, every other car I've owned has one wiring harness for all the different typ eof model (XE, LE,SE, etc). I was watching the ABLS light in my dash while slipping but it was also cutting out my throttle. I'm willing to bet that if I did install that VDC switch, that I could at least turn the throttle control off, and thats what I want to do. (good for burnouts anyway)

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Nissan does not use the same wiring harness for the XE, SE and LE models. Just ask anyone that added factory fog lights to their XE.

Like others have stated, if your truck has VDC, then you should have the switch. I believe the VDC is controlled through the ECU, and their are several ECU part numbers according to what I have read on the forums. If you want to do burnouts, then do the burnout mod. It works like a champ! ABLS doesn't cut the throttle, but rather applies the brakes to the slipping wheel.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

You could always get Up Rev tune, I can do burnout now with out the mod.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Yeah, I doubt its only applys braking., it sure feels like something else.
I'm going up to the snow this weekend and going to pull the ABS fuse and see what happens. I might still take the dash apart just to see whats back there.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

What happens when you introduce a load to your engine? The RPMs drop. ABLS is applying the brake to the slipping wheel. That is gonna feel like it's taking away power because the RPMs drop and you didn't control it.

I'm not locked into this opinion, but I think it's logical.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

yeah, I read through my manual and it doesn't say that the ABLS sytem cuts throttle, it sure feels like it though.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Did you ever figure anything out on this? I have the same issue with my VDC. NO SWITCH to turn it off and cant even pull out in traffic in the rain without my truck shutting down on me, real pain in the butt. Let me know, would love to fix this issue.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

ABS doesn't cut throttle. Only trucks equipped with VDC will cut power.

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

Ok I've been searching for something like this and I don't care about VDC cause I don't have it. I'm looking for a mod or switch if anyone has installed it, that will disengage b-lsd so it does not work. I would love a mod with just a switch to cut it off, because it's real hard to do donuts and other fun stuff in the snow with this on. If anyone has done this or knows where a link would be, I'd appreciate it!

Re: Vehicle Dynamic Control Switch Install

If you have an 04-05 titan with the E-locker, I'm 99.9% sure that you do not have VDC. Those two options are only avaliable on the 2006 and up titans.

Read here: You may have VDC and no OFF switch.

Finally Got Vdc Off Switch!!
