After digging around a bit on the Nissan website, I've come to the conclusion that 2004-2007 Titans DO NOT have continuously variable valve timing or variable intake system. However, 2007 Frontiers do...
Here is my evidence:
This is just my theory. I do think CVVT will be on the 2008 Titans though. I think Nissan got the stuff ready for the 2007 Titans, but will actually make the change for the 2008 Titans. I see no other reason why Nissan would have listed CVVT and CIS for the 2007 Frontier, but not for the 2007 Titan than it not being there!

Yea, no duh..I posted in that thread. That was a generic TSB for Nissans affecting Nissans back to 1996 I believe. Yea, it said our engine series, but still doesn't mean we have it on our trucks. That TSB doesn't prove anything for me. It just says All Nissan Engines with Variable Valve Timing 1996-2007...doesn't say Titan has it..I see the VK56 listed under applied engines, but that still don't prove it to me.. I haven't seen any concrete evidence that they do have it..
It flies either way, you would think Nissan would tout VVT as a feature on it's trucks, but there have been several photos of the 07' engine and on each bank up front there are new sensors/solenoids that many believe to be part of the VVT package...

Maybe they have the "hardware" in place, but won't activate it until the '08's come out? I think this is highly likely however. The '07's probably do have VVT on intake side. The paltry 12hp and 6tq gain is a little bewildering. VVT should add close to 18-20hp all things being equal. The elimination of the Y-pipe should give the '07's 7- 10hp just by itself.
Initially, I wondered why Nissan would do VVT on the intake side only. Why not VVT on both the intake and exhaust sides? This leads me to believe they probably didn't want a huge leap of power from one model year to the next. Doing it in increments protects the Titan name brand so to speak. Increase the hp/tq by a small margin every few years to keep it competitive on paper. After all, the Titan wasn't exactly slow at 305hp/379tq. The Titan is one of the fastest 1/2 ton PU's currently offered. There's really no need for a huge increase in power. Also, they have a "hole in the ace" due to the fact that the power figures on the Endurance are downrated anyway.
I guess the only way to settle this debate is to have someone with an '07 Titan take off one of their cam covers to see if there is indeed a cam sprocket clutch mechanism under there. Any takers?

And the TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin that Nissan corporate puts out. It lets the dealers know how to handle specific, known service issues with the vehicles.

You could add VVT to an engine in such a way that there would be no increase in peak horsepower, or torque...What it can do is fill the "hole" in the bottom of the HP/Torque curves.
There is way too much emphisis on peak HP, a broad fat torque curve for a truck is the real power ticket.
