Another on bites the dust

Hey guys,
Iv'e gone off the reservation. I traded in my 04 Titan XE 4X4 extened cab for an 07 Tacoma 4X4 Double cab Long bed. It was a great deal and now I have all the bells and whistles, Power door locks, windows and alarm and remote start.
I wanted something a little smaller and more comfortable. Also Since the 04 was the first year I was a little skepticle on the long term reliability, that said I only had the judder problem and it was fixed just with turning the rotors. I'll miss the power of the V8 but the Taco is so much smoother and feels more refined. More like my 02 Pathfinder that the Titan had replaced. Well Good luck to all, its been fun and informative.

Happy New Year

Mark

Tacomas are fun and a great off road truck.

Enjoy your new ride and Happy New Year.

Re: Another on bites the dust

I can tell you those Tacomas are solid trucks. I've owned mine for 6 1/2 years and it took a beating through my highschool years. I just prepped her up for sale this weekend and she still runs like a top.

Ive replaced the plugs/cap/rotor once (supposed to be a yearly thing)
1) fuel filter
Oil ~5k miles
2) sets of tires 31x10.50s (2 yrs then I lifted) and then 33x12.50s (4 years) & still on her
2) CV Axles ~$100 each (due to lift)
and recently a new master cylinder & manual adjust rear brake distro box ~$200

Not bad for a 10 year old truck...Its gonna be hard to let her go.

I was looking at the same truck you bought (2006) but the setup I wanted was ~30k which was 10k over my budget

Re: Another on bites the dust

I would have bought a Taco had the extended cab (dont care for crew cabs) had more room in the back seat. I like the hood scoop option, looks tough

Good choice. If I hadn't opted for the Titan, it would have been the new Taco. The '06 has received some great reviews.

Thats awesome
I loved the Titan but couldn't pass up the deal. I got $17,500 in trade and for once wasn't lopsided to begin with. Gotta love that 1% financing now I've got 5.8%. But its worth it.

Re: Another on bites the dust

Yep, Dealers earn between 3,000 and 6,000 per deal. They have too in order to survive and pay the Bills. Or they just won't sell the Veh. Period.

The deal is compared to what other stealerships offer. Everyone was saying 25k for what i was looking for...I paid 19,500 for mine.....a deal is the 5k i saved from the others.

Re: Another on bites the dust

The deal for me was $17,500 on my trade and $2,000 off the price of the Truck.
Thats about $2,500 more than my truck was worth. Good deal to me.
