Gah!!! First scratch!!!

Just wanted to rant for a second-

My poor 2-month old is now no longer "new". Some moron put a nice 1 FOOT long scratch along the passenger-side door!!!

Boo!!!

It's not really THAT bad, there's one, maybe 3-4" section that's somewhat deep, but the rest I should be able to buff out with no problems whatsoever (which I will be doing RIGHT after work, ha!)...and that part I should be able to get where it's nearly un-noticeable. I'm thankful that it's not deep, just long.

I park out of the way so this type of stuff wouldn't happen...GAH!!!

My first new car too...why can't people be a little more considerate?

You know, it almost looks like a "key" attempt too, just not AS bad.

The thing is...I don't double park, I park my truck out of the way whereever I go to minimize the possibility of door-dings. Even then, I don't double park...that's just asking to get messed with.

With the way assholes are nowadays, you are just asking for them to scratch up your ride doind that, lol. I have a stupid coworker who's likes to open his door and just let it go, his attitude is, it's not mine getting hit.

Unfortunately, thats the first of many to come. No matter where you go, where you park, the scratch-makers WILL find you.lol

That's why I needed to rant. I baby, baby, baby my paint.

I don't even touch the paint unless it's washed...even then I try to keep my fingers off.\

Not in this ride, but I've had people lean up against my previous vehicle..."Get the **** off my car". They got the message right quick.

I'm first going to try the Scratch-X route since I can do it by hand and have had ok results...plus I'd have to wait until summer to break out the Orbital, no way I'm doing it in 15degree weather.

I think that means parking on top of other cars, not next to them where you might get a door ding. Didn't you see the picture in the manual? Or do you have a 2WD, cause they're different...

Re: Gah!!! First scratch!!!

The key is to park next to other Titans. You can't scratch another Titan. It's just not Ethical.

Re: Gah!!! First scratch!!!

i baby baby baby my paint as well. i dont let people even lean on my truck either. i thought i was the only one obsessed like that. as far as double parking goes, IF and i mean IF i do double park i am so far away that i could take 4 spots up and it would not matter. if i know we are going to a highly crowded place i will valet park. my biggest pet peeve ever is door dings! i hate people who dont have enough respect to not hit some strangers car. arg! it makes me so angry just thinking about it. like a week after i got my TITAN some a$$ put a nice one in my door and had to spend some $ to get it fixed.
