best Mods for MPG

Looking to start a topic for those who have done a mod to help out MPG..this way the newcomers can look here and not have to ask ?'s or search the forum for hours and then see thread going off topic....lets keep this one on topic, and thanks for a great forum....Include mod and model Titan, year, ETC, and total miles on engine

Mine so far is oil change Amsoil 5w30 full syn went from 14.2 to 16.1 more to follow after the big 1300 mile drive, and gotta let that oil cycle a bit still.

2006 LE 4X4 BT/CC 6,800 miles on engine

Re: best Mods for MPG

Without a doubt, the absolute best mpg gain is when you put your Titan on the back of a flatbed trailer, the mpg gain is tremendous.

Re: best Mods for MPG

A light foot is the best way to improve MPG. You can put all the mods on you want, but if you have a heavy foot, you'll never notice. I drive rather conservatively and I average 17MPG on almost every fill-up. I drive 66 miles round trip M-F with 85% of it highway miles traveling with cruise control set to 80MPH.

Re: best Mods for MPG

Good question, I have noticed about 2 mpg difference by increasing tire pressures to approx 50 psi. Also as a side effect the truck seems to feel more stable less side sway and wandering with the increased pressure. lost some mpg after installing nitto terra grapplers,so with higher pressure i am back where i started mpg wise approx 14 mpg mixed driving with 04 kc bt 3.36 gears. Someone was talking about banks exaust improving mpg provided you keep your foot out of the go pedal

Re: best Mods for MPG

50psi is pretty high. it may cause your tires to wear unevenly. i only inflate mine to 35psi.

Re: best Mods for MPG

If you do a lot of highway cruising, definitely go for exhaust. But taping an egg to the gas pedal definitely helps.
