Question Climate Control Switch Problem?

Have you guys heard of anyone having any problems with the climate control fan switch? A few mornings ago it was below freezing here and when I started my truck and turned the heater on, I moved the fan knob to 4 and it wouldn't do anything. after that there was no resistance when I turned the knob and it makes a clicking noise when i get to setting 4? well, i took the dash cover peice off to examine it, but there's not much you can do b/c it is all electrical. When I took the dash cover off I unhooked the three plugs for the climate control and also the passenger airbag sensor light and the hazard lights plugs. Well, after putting it all back together I noticed my airbag sensor light won't stop blinking on my dash near my speedometer? how do i stop this from happening? It's really annoying. Anyways, I called my dealership and they said I have to make an appointment to see what's wrong, then they will order the part to fix it. The problem is that I'm never in town during the week and they don't do work on the weekends. I can see that they need to order an entire new switch board, but I guess they have to see it to do that. What sucks is that my fan is stuck on the #3 setting so it's always blowing hard which sucks.

Re: Climate Control Switch Problem?

Flashing Airbag reset procedure.
1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

Re: Climate Control Switch Problem?

that happend to my wifes armada 1st week she owned it, i was driving and its december and snowing, fan switch just stopped blowing, turned off at the nearest exit, turned truck off, waited a minute worked just fine, 3 days later took it to the dealer and i think they couldn't find anything wrong with it, they said they lubed/greased it. A year later and no problems since then.

Re: Climate Control Switch Problem?

The thing is, mine still blows, but it is stuck on the number 3 setting on the fan adjuster. something is broken or fried in the switch box. i don't know if you've ever looked at the switch box, but it is all one big box that controls all three climate controls so i'm gonna have to have the whole thing replaced. at least that's what i've read on here somewhere.

Yeah, I've got 27K on my truck and I've had it 26 months so I'm still covered thank goodness. I guess I was lucky enough to have it all break in one day. LOL Mine just glides back and forth with no tension at all.

Re: Climate Control Switch Problem?

What setting did yours stick on? It sucks having the fan blowing so hard all the time, but I guess it's better than it being stuck on zero I gotta look at the bright side of it I guess.

Re: Climate Control Switch Problem?

we lubed and greased it is as standard a dealer answer as we weren't able to duplicate the problem.
