I am taking opinions on painting or powder coating by back bumper? Would powder coating be as glossy as regular paint? Or if somone has painted one does the paint last? Because on my stock bumper i notice there is a lot of paint chips missing from the side of the bumper.

Re: Painted or powder coated?
My bumper, and my buddy Derek (titan814)'s. Are painted. Mines white, and his is red. Both of us had it done by a freinds shop. Pefectly color matched. Very durable, and super sheen shine. It's well worth it if you like things to be complete looking. I have had it on for about 1000k miles now and not even a scratch. Powder coatings cool too, but we paid 100$ for our bumpers. I got an estimate from a pwdr. ctr that was 324$. haha
Clint, the correct answer is Powder Coating IS more durable!!
Powder Coat the thing, you'll be happy you did.

I talked to a guy today he gave me a esimate of $200 roughly for powder coat but it wasnt very glossy.
There are different types of powder coatings. You can get it glossy, flat or even crinkle textured. Most any color.

Re: Painted or powder coated?
Paint. 1 coat of primer. 3 coats of 06 Titan Black. 2 coats of gloss shine/sealer. Just take the 6 bolts off, carefully jack ur heavy *** bumper down. Un-attach the bulbs for the license plate. place bumper on a padded surface, and carefully use some pliers to pinch the tabs for the plastic on our bumpers off. Do it one at a time there multiple. Then just take it to ur local paint guys and get her sprayed. Much better than waiting 3-5days for your Powder Coater to get the bumper done...They have to bake umm in a overn to acheive a true powder coat. Make sure you have ur registration, and stuff while ur driving around with no bumper, or just screw ur license plate temp. into the lil alluminum right under our tailgates, and let it rest against our sprae tires. My dads a cop, and they'll pull u over if they see no plates and or registration for a new veichle in the window... Good luck with whatever u choose...

Re: Painted or powder coated?
I took it to a body shop. 100$ and he had it done in 1 day literally. I dropped it off wensday morning, and he had it painted by thursday afternoon. It's well worth it, and a expeirence body shop should be able to track down the proper color code to match your year and model. Dont take it to just any hillbilly's place haha, it wont turn out good. Stick with reputible places, even ask your nissan dealer where they take veichles to have body damage repaired, that place usually will be expeirenced with painting nissan's... sorry for the paragraphs haha.
If you paint it it'll match the rest fo the truck better should be cheaper and is easier to touch up if you hit things.
The powder coating will be much more durable and is what I'd do if I were you.
I put rockcrawler bumpers on my Wrangler and had them painted. The good side to having them painted was that it was cheap and easy to touch-up where they nudge rocks, etc. But in the long run I wish I had them powdercoated. I had the paint chip, start flaking off, the bumpers start to rust.
As others have said
- powdercoating is much more durable and you can select from 100's of colors and finishes, including clossy black
- paint will offer you a more exact match to the color of your truck.
Because I have lots of powdercoating experience with wheels I can clearly say I would go powdercoating because I would think the extra durability on a bumper would far outweight the color match thing.

Yeah im thinking powder coating because i dont want to be out there everyday after driving down a dirt road touching up my bumper glossy black will be close enough it will match better than the big a$$ silver bumper sticking out now. Thanks Guys
