what sold you on the titan?

what sold me was that i always let my brother pick out my trucks for me, he would tell me stuff like.....(son that thing wont tow sh*t) or( parts are a mkillion dollars for that thing) he always told me id be stupid if i bought anything other then a chevy, well i kind of got tired of that, so i test drove everything on the market and ended up with what i wanted for once..... he still rags me, but hey it's exactly what i wanted, i told him to screw off if he didnt like it, it's my truck, just go drive your 6 liter chevy and leave me the hell alone..... me and my 07' titan se are very happy together!

Re: what sold you on the titan?

Main thing that sold me was the Utilitrak system.

Being that I bought mine in '04 and no one else had Utilitrak yet, I was sold on Nissan. I liked it because I haul motorcycles quite frequently and it is nice to have numerous anchor points to make sure the motorcycles don't shift around.

However, just because I liked the Utilitrak doesn't mean I would have bought the Titan if it was a piece of junk. I also liked the performance, size, and expected durability that Nissan vehicles have always seemed to have.

Re: what sold you on the titan?

It was really pretty simple for me and here is the equation that led me to purchase the Titan.

Chevy = Suck
Ford = POS
Dodge = LOL
Toyota = Nice looking truck but the Tundra I owned was an overpriced mini-lemon.

Combine those things and I only had one real choice... the Titan. It has already been more practical and trouble free than my Tundra was at this point of ownership which has been just over a month!

Re: what sold you on the titan?

What sold me is it is a full size import pick up, unlike the boring Tundra's at the time which were considered 7/8th scale. I like the edgey style of the Titan with the amazing power curve of the engine. But one of the biggest selling points was the room in the back of the crew cab! The only thing bigger is the Dodge mega cab, which is a beast.

It may be a beast but it's still a Dodge.

I didn't mean beast as in a good thing. I meant beast as in if I wanted truck that big I would go get a F-650 with a CAT motor and Allison trans big.

Re: what sold you on the titan?

In all honesty it boils down to 3 basic things.

1- I owned an '86.5 Nissan SE-V6 4x4 KC Hardbody, a '94 Chevy S10 ExtraCab 4x4, and a '95 Nissan XE-V6 4x4 KC Hardbody. The Nissans were great, the S10 was such a piece of crap I had to get ride of it before the warranty ran out.

2- After driving small pickups for nearly 13 years I wanted a full size truck.

3- The Titan's tranny is way better than the automatic in all of the automatic sport sedans I have ever driven. This was key because I have not owned an auto tranny since the days of my '71 Dodge Dart Duster.

Re: what sold you on the titan?

I test drove a F150, test drove the Titan. It wasn't a hard decision after that.

I wonder if anybody after test driving a Titan bought something else?

Re: what sold you on the titan?

Titan: Superior driving ergonomics that work well for this oversized geezer.

However, I'd much prefer a Saleen or Mustang GT...but that is never gonna happen.

Re: what sold you on the titan?

The day that Nissan introduced the Titan I liked it. I was a dodge guy and was looking at the new mega cab but in the end I chose the Titan because the wife liked it better than the dodge. Not to mention the first time i test drove one I was hooked TITAN all the way.

Re: what sold you on the titan?

For me, when I bought my spec-v I saw one on the floor and loved it. The interior room was the biggest selling point. I have 2 kids and a dog and lots of stuff that has to go with that lol

Re: what sold you on the titan?

owned a 91 Nissan Hardbody, beat the sh!t out of it for 7 years. It still ran good and never had any issues with it. Thats what sold me on getting another Nissan.
