CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

I'm once again considering a CC titan. Ive got two bikes, one is 80 inches and one is 88 inches.

Im wondering if any of you put bikes in the bed using an extender on a regular basis.

Thanks!

Manny

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

That was the main reason I got a KC. I don't want my rear tire resting on the tailgate. With a KC and bed extender I can load 3 dirtbikes and put my gearbag, gascan, toolbox, etc on the tailgate.

Just my .02

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

I have a CC (need the 4 doors with my family)

I pull a small pop up trailer and carry my KTM 400. It will fit with the rear tire on the tailgate, or w/o the tailgate it must go in diagonal

Not a problem now as the kids only have 50cc bikes, but 6-7 years from now it will be an issue

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

The 2008 Titan should be a long bed Crew Cab. Wait until they come out in the spring and all your problems become no problem.

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

People have done, not sure if they're around to post.

I for one, would be worried about traveling with weight on the tailgate often, especially traversing bumpyroads to get to the fun spots...

But I know some have done it with no ill effects to date.

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

I have a couple of Suzuki RMZ's and you can not put the bed extender over the wheels to put it on once the bikes are in the back. Maybe if you can latch it in a different way other then dropping it in from the top and then folding it back.

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

I tow a P/U trailer with 1-2 bikes, the bikes on the t-gate isn't your worry, the t-gate hitting some part of the trailer tongue is...I replaced my fixed tongue jack for a swivel type to allow it to move out of the way of the t-gate while towing. What model trailer do you have? I have the Jayco Baja 10Z lifted off-road model...

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes

Check out some pictures of my gsxr 1000 loaded in the truck, it doesn't rest on the tailgate but it does rest in the groove. It's an 06 CC.
Tailgate Load Weight? (Loading Motorcycle In Bed)
The total length of the bike is 80"

Re: CC bed size/motorcycle/dirt bikes
