Anyone out there with the LE temperature controls....
My controls are the separate driver/passenger side where you set a temperature and the unit is supposed to do the rest. However, I have to constantly fiddle with the controls, both temp and fan speed, in order to stay somewhat comfortable in the truck.
My wife's maxima has automatic controls as well, and it works absolutely perfect...it will adjust to keep the cabin just where it should be. My Titan, however, will eventually start pumping out cold air (winter time here) and freeze me out if I don't manually adjust. Eventually I can get it back in line, then 10 minutes later I'm fiddling again. What's the use of an automatic climate control system if one needs to do this all the time?
Any thoughts? I'm wondering if the sensor that determines temperature in the cabin is faulty.
Sorry I can't help but I'm glad I didn't opt for the overpriced LE with silly options lke that. Mine I set the temp and leave it alone.

I have a new '07 KC LE. Just for comparitive purposes, I don't seem to be having the same problem. But then again, I haven't had to mess with it much given how warm the SoCal winter has been. Might be something for the dealer to look at.
Could be a problem with your sensors but on my Armada LE I have the similar issues. I'm a pretty smart guy and a month and change later and I'm still trying to figure out WTF the were thinking with this HVAC system.
First off, it is so annoying to have "soft" knobs for temp and fan rather than "hard" knobs that had "clicked" positions or buttons. I have not figured out a way to set it to auto and not have it in dual mode. When I have it cranked to 90 degrees it will not put the fan speed on high. When I put it on windsheild / feet it will turn off the defrost 1/2 way through. I tell you, I cannot figure this thing out.
The only thing I like about the auto feature is it does not turn the fan on much until the engine is warm enough to pump out warm air.
i've got an LE and this is also something i have not gotten use to. i'm in the same boat as you. it doesnt work with me, only when it is cold outside. when it's warm or cool, i dont have a problem and i dont worry about it. when its cold, i'm always fiddling around with the temp controls too and it pisses me off a bit. i feel the controls of it are a bit off too, ie. when i put it on auto, it doesnt blow air out of the front vents, just the feet. i wish they made all the vents turn on and have an open/close vent slider for the fronts. also, everytime i go to adjust it and switch from auto to manual, the computer turns my AC on, instead off keeping it off, since i didnt push AC on, WTF? this is my only peeve on the truck, the heating controls and the heated seats!!!
I just got a 2006 LE with the auto CC, and it seems to work for me.
It keeps the fan low until the engine warms up, then floods windshield and feet with warm air. As soon as the windshield is defrosted, I turn the the AC off, so I guess from then on it's half-auto
Believe, coming from a 2004 SE that didn't allow you to switch off the AC if you'd had it on for more than 30 seconds, this system represents Nirvana. That was the stupidest feature of the 2004 IMO; driving around in winter with the AC going

Sorry. Mine works fine. But I must agree with some of the comments here. It is a rather convoluted system with many quirks and goofy settings. It took me a while to get used to how to manipulate it properly and have teh settings stay put. It's actually been so long since I've had to change anything that I don't know if I'd even remember all the wacky things you have to do to change the settings...
climate control is not a silly option, if it works right, it's one of the best options you can get in a vehicle, especially dual climate controls.
C'mon....LMAO....it is silly. One control to blow air that's 2 degrees warmer at someone sitting 12 inches away from you?......lol....ok, yeah, there's the BEST option I can think of...lol. Climate control is one thing, dual climate controls is plain moronic when you're sitting RIGHT NEXT TO THEM!
I wasn't even going to get into the general weird control design of the system...whoever thought that those knobs that you have to tap left and right to adjust just had their head screwed on wrong. You CAN turn the A/C off, but I don't like to have to do that. I actually had to unhook the wiring on my 05 Tundra to keep the air off, so at least the Titan is better in that regard. I know it sounds kind of chickensh!t to complain about these things, but regardless of the design itself, the CC should work as well as my Maxima, in my opinion.
I made an appointment with the dealer to have this looked at, but I'm sure I'll just get the standard "that's how it is" kind of answer.
Good thing everything else about the rig is so sweet!
Mine works just fine. I'm in the Texas panhandle and so far it's been from 104 to -12 this year around here. I have no problems setting it or letting it run on auto.

It's not when your two center vents don't have any control allowing you to close them.

I have CC in my 07 Pathfinder and wish it wasn't there.
The controls in my Titan are much better, glad my Titan LE is an 05 or I'd be in the same situation with an 06 or 07 LE
