So I have been searching around a ton trying to find the truck I want. This is the one I have found other than a fully loaded LE which I can't afford. I recently rolled a 2006 Tacoma and had anyone been with me they would have been pretty messed up. Basically the side airbags are pretty important. I also hunt and fish alot and pull a boat so I would like to get off-road and big tow. Any and all opinions are much appreciated. Let me know what you think.
Here's the deal:
2006 Titan SE Crew Cab
4x4, Off-road package
Bed Utility Package
Side Airbags
Big Tow Package
Fosgate and Captains Chairs
$34608.37 out the door (taxes, title, licence included)
They have to bring it in so it isn't sitting on the lot which tends to reduce my bargaining power. There isn't anything available that I can find anywhere within a few hundred miles of Reno so if you know of somewhere to look I am willing to check it out. I have family in Seattle, San Diego, and Kansas City so those places are easy to travel to. Again any and all opinions are much appreciated. Thanks for the help...you gotta love these forums.
Go price the truck at Edmunds.com
Even if they have to bring it in, an auto broker should be willing to get you a truck at a good price.
My own was very hard to get. The dealer that had it would not trade it. I had to drive over there and buy it, and I actually saved a little money doing so.
Good luck on the hunt. The reward will be worth it. If you really want to know why you want a Titan, go drive an equivalent hemi.

You know you had a great night last night when you make it home the next day missing at least 1/2 of your clothes.
I'm going to start up a soup kitchen. That way I can be first in line.
It is a new truck. I agree. Invoice on this is 33500-35k depending on a few things. When outfitted on the Nissan site it has to have the mobile theater, which I don't really want. That puts edmunds invoice at just over 35. Otherwise invoice is 33500.
That price doesn't seem horrible if it truely includes tax & license which could be an extra $2500. The invoice price for the truck you describe is about $34,080, minus $3250 rebate brings it down to $30,830, if you add the tax & license of $2,500, that still puts you at $33,330.
If you don't mind coming to Seattle, there's a dealership a short ferry ride away that could probable save you close to $1800. The Name of the dealership is Advantage Nissan in Bremerton Wa. & the internet sales manager is Chuck Capps. I sent him an email 6 months ago noting that one of his salesmen were on this board selling trucks for $500 under invoice the prior year & asked if he was still giving that deal. He wrote back saying he wasn't, but since I had found the deal here he would honor it.
It was a great experience, had a done deal for $500 under invoice before rebates, I got it for $5747 under MSRP. I would have saved a lot more if I would have bought a fully optioned LE. My truck wasn't on their lot & the only charged me $50 to drive it the 50 miles from where it was. There were no hidden fees or games, they did try to sell me all the protective coating crap & financing, but I simple told them I wasn't interested. I have no affiliation with this business other than being a very satisfied customer. It might be worth your while to contact Chuck, set up a deal & buy a oneway ticket to Seatac. Just tell Chuck you want the $500 under invoice deal you heard about on this board. Good Luck. http://www.advantagenissan.com/
Thanks Shrup. I actually have family in Seattle so I will definitely check it out. If they got the price down around 33k I would probably jump on it. Thanks again for the info. I'll let you know what I find out.

And this was with them having to retreive it from another dealer 280 miles away.
On those better deals can you guys help out on how I might get a better one. I have searched pretty extensively around the western region and I can't get much of a better deal. Any help saving a few bucks would be much appreciated.

First of all, I started my search through online, can't remember which one right now, but like "carsdirect.com". From there, the local dealer contacted me (within 15 minutes of the entry); actually three different dealers contacted me. Once they located the truck I was interested in, I worked up a spreadsheet (listing both MSRP and Invoice price) of base vehicle price and each option. Add / subtract the destination, doc fees, taxes / rebates. I then visited the internet mgr at the dealer, w/ spreadsheet in hand, and started the negotiations at that total invoice price. Also letting them know that a couple of dealers where in play definitely helped also. Edmunds.com has a good write up on computing true dealer cost, and how to handle the negotiations.
Sorry!!! Didn't read the whole thread before replying, so I editied this.
You can get a base model LE for less. Even if you add in the side air bags and the offroad package, the LE should be less.
Go to carsdirect dot com and price it out and then take that price sheet to the dealer. It's usually a no haggle experience for the best price.
