What tire pressure

My titan is stock. 17 off road package. What tire pressure seems to be the optimum for these tires. I don't tow or haul anything

Re: What tire pressure

Max is 35 psi (cold). 28 psi and below turns on the warning light.

I run on 33-35 psi with even tire wear.

Re: What tire pressure

My light came on at 32 psi. I had to put 35 to get it to turn off the light.

Re: What tire pressure

It seems 28.5 psi will trip the warning light on mine. I run the back tires at around 32-33 psi. If I run more, the ride gets harsh. If I run less, the light will go on.

I wish the tire pressure warning light was set to a lower pressure. Like when the tire pressure got below 25 psi or something like that. I prefer to run 29-30psi with an empty bed. That seems to be optimal for both ride and handling. However, when I do that, the light will turn on after about a week or two driving it around like that.

Ditto, 40 psi works for me.

Re: What tire pressure

I'm about to put a little bit more air in my tires (35+). Ride quality isn't a big deal to me, but every little bit counts when you're getting 12 mpg.

Re: What tire pressure

In general terms a harder tire (well inflated) will run cooler than a softer tire (under inflated) and running cooler equals lasting longer; just ask Ford Explorer and Firestone about this concept...

I ran the OEM BFG at 34 all the time. They wore evenly due to good rotation habits. The irony is with the OEM BFGs they will not last very long so you might as well run them towards the firmer side and not worry about premature middle of the tire wear.

I'm now on the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO which have a max pressure of 44 and to date I have been keeping them at about 38 to 40.

Re: What tire pressure

I keep them at the recomended 35. My light will go on around 31-32.

Isnt it dangerous to run higher then the specs? Liek the whole Firestone Explorer thing?

It was the lower inflation pressure and higher vehicle load limits recommended by Ford that contributed to the problems.
