My KC, before I traded it in on the CC, would have hit the side of the bed if it opened any further!
Yeah, last I checked it's still sitting in my driveway.
What I'm saying is GM has the right to brag even if their stats are just slightly better. Nissan did when it had the highest towing capacity in its class. Just pointing out the facts!!!

GM stole a lot of ideas from the Titan. Instead of a straight frame in the back, the frame angles up over the rear axle. This is a departure from their previous frame. They also adopted an independant front suspension and finally rack and pinion steering. The fender styling somewhat resembles the Titan. The truck still has a way to go to get to the top.

They also stole some ideas from our Armadas. I just saw a TV commercial where the 2nd row seat folds forward, & they have a power lift gate. I've had that for over 3 years now.
It's a whole lot easier for the Big 3 to pick and chose what to steal from the competition. Nissan had to come in as a major underdog in a hugely lucrative market for those 3, and had to try to establish a new reputation as an innovative leader. Something that Toyota had failed to do with the dimunitive Turdra. I'm of the opinion that Nissan did an outstanding job in the research area. That's exactly why their stuff gets copied!

I saw a an infomercial with "Howie" taking the truck out on the "job site" talking about how great it is. I thought it was funny how Chevy claimed to have the full- open doors inovation. Then the Z-71 has another industry first an "automatic rear locker". It's just baby steps forward of Nissans design. Personally, I don't think a rear automatic locker is a step forward.

Yeah...right...the same Gov-Loc they had in the 80's. It's alright, but they can blow up also.
GM was bragging in print about their "innovative" rail tie-down system...Yes they are the first American truck to offer such an advanced item!

For my .02, it's not about being an "American" truck or not. At least not exclusively. Toyota and Honda have dominated the midsize/compact car market for years without being "American". Nissan was just trying to step into a market dominated by the Big 3, given that Toyota really hadn't encroached on that market with the Turdra. Did Nissan make a marketing mistake not emphasizing the fact that the Titan is made in the US? Yup. But, that is a hard market to get into. Toyota continues to cruise on the reputation they have for longevitym (or similar) as a brand as a whole, but not necessarily as a full size truck manufacturer. But again, Toyota doesn't really "innovate" in this segment as Nissan has. IMHO

Facts? Yeah right...
Take a good look at that Chevy truck...it looks like a Titan styled by committee.
The slant of the roofline, the front fenders, the rear quarters are all Titanesque. The Util-I-Trac system, the wide open doors..all copied.
The interior has more Titan features.
Why does GM have the right to brag?
You don't know scheiss about what you're talking about.
I'll tell you one thing guys...I had an 02 GMC Sierra LT 4x4 and it doen't' even compare to the TITAN !! Too many reasons to list, and with that I will NEVER buy a GM (or a Dodge, Ford).
A guy at work just got a brand new Silverado and dared me to compare... Luckily for me I am a manager on a local heavy highway project so gues what...you guessed it! I had on open road ( newly paved road not yet open to traffic). We lined up and the rest is history. I blew him away by 2 truck lengths. Both trucks stock.
Those "domestic" guys didn't know what to say.
I love it
What GM needs to steal, are some of Nissan's employees so they can build better vehicles.
LMAO!!! NICE!!!!!
Hopefully the 08 or 09 titans will more than bury the competition.
Nissan's commercials have been decent, just too few and too little advertising in general. Long live the Titan!!
