GM Stole Nissan's Utility-trac Idea?

Just browsing through the net this morning and noticed at the chevrolet site that their Silverados have an option for a "utility trac" system.
Just pround that Nissan had theirs first!!

Yep, saw one last night in the grocery store parking lot. Looked just like mine. I would have looked closer but the guy sitting in the truck seemed to be getting nervous about me staring in his bed.

Unistrut probably wishes they could get that kind of margin.

Hate to admit it, but they do have some pretty cool accessories for their trac system. I like their side toolboxes.
Wonder if they fit our system?

Toyota has the same system on their Tacoma and the new Tundra also.

Re: GM Stole Nissan's Utility-trac Idea?

It's like the push button starter in the Honda S2000, everbody now feels the need to copy.

What blows me away though is GM advertises their new truck like they are the 1st one on the planet to have the full swing open rear door feature, damn GM...

I was able to play with GM's system at the L.A. auto show, and it seemed like a piece of cr@p compared to Nissan's. The GM spokesman tried to pass it off as GM's innovation.

Well, technically, GM is correct. Their door does swing all the way out, whereas, the Titan does not swing all the way out. It's an improvement over an older design.

Quote from the Nissan website:

Wide Open Rear Doors
Say goodbye to the dreaded "parking lot trap." Titan King Cab has something no other truck has: Wide Open Rear Doors that swing open to a nearly flat 168°. Suddenly, tight parking spaces don't seem so tight. Just load your gear, groceries, kids in one seamless move.

The GM opens to 170 degrees!!! So, yes, technically, the GM opens more so yes, they can make that claim.

170 vs. 168. Who in the real world would notice or care??? It's all a marketing scheme.

Was the spokesman's name Al Gore???

I went to the Pittsburgh Auto Show last year, and I knew more about the Titan than the rep did.

What on earth are you talking about?
If the Titan's door swung any farther it would hit the side of the bed.

GM is showing their cab style like the Titan's King Cab with a backwards folding door and my pic clearly shows that is the style Nissan invented. Of course if you are thinking about a Titan Crew Cab sure, it does not swing all the way, but that's because it swings in the wrong direction and that is not the style door GM is talking about.

huuuuh>>??? You do have a "Titan", right dude?

My KC, before I traded it in on the CC, would have hit the side of the bed if it opened any further!

What GM needs to steal, are some of Nissan's employees so they can build better vehicles.
