Depends on the dealer but you'll take a pretty good hit. I would recommend to sell your ride first (privately) then go buy a Titan with 4x4.

Re: would i take a monster hit trading up to 4x4?

I came from a Z71 4x4 and I used the 4x4 more than most, but still bought a 2wd Titan. It may not be what you want to hear, but I am glad I have the 2wd. Having a 4x4 was a waste of gas and just added to the neverending guilt of useless fuel consumption.

Honestly, I am going to make one badace street truck out of this Titan folks.
I did enjoy having the 4 wheel low, though.

I pay 800 dollars a month for the Titan so that I will never take an immediate hit if I want another truck.....

$800 a month is too much for a 2wd Titan. Did you trade the Z71 in for the Titan?

2 answers here:

1. You'll take it in the shorts if you trade in. You may want to try and sell by yourself first. You can also look into Carmax if there is one near you but they are still a stealership and will probably try to give it to you also.

2. Yes I believe you can get a 4x4 for under 30k. When I was looking I had a deal at just about 30k for an CC Offroad 4x4 XE but ended up going with the SE CC that I have.

800 a month is way more than the required note of course....

Stay ahead of your equity....Me and the wife usually put around 40 grand(miles) a year on vehicles.
