Mini lift kit questions

Well its time for my next mod. I have been reading alot about the mini lift kits and after seeing how they looked in person at the socal meet. Made me decide that was the way to go. However i have a few quesions about it hopefully you guys can help me out. I'll start out by saying im 17 so money is tight and a factor meaning i cant go all out and get top of the line equipment Im looking to spend no more than 350. My first question is Who makes a decent priced mini lift kit? thats fair in price and fair quality. Also i have read that after the intall you must get an alignement? will i have to buy anything additional to the lift kit? and my last question is for any socal members who have done this. I would try an tackle this myself but i lag tools and expirience and shops charge a pretty penny. So if anyone in so cal would be willing to do my instalation let me know your price.

Re: Mini lift kit questions

mario, just go to the PRG website. The PRG minilift is only $268 plus shipping. Greg at PRG also installs. Call him and see what he can do for you. Here's the website:

http://www.prgproducts.com/titan_leveling.php

Also, check out this thread:

Leveling kit install time???????

Specifically, this post:

http://www.titantalk.com/forums/721939-post21.html

Nothing here that is unusual and can probably be found in just about any toolbox. If you don't have this stuff, just talk to Greg about a buy/install deal. See what he says.

I was at the meet and I did not see you. Do you have any pictures of your truck? Maybe I just missed it.

Re: Mini lift kit questions

The leveling kit is the spacer that raises the front of your truck so it's even with the back. You would have approximately the same amount of space between the tire and the wheelwell on both front and back fenders.

The mini lift is the front spacer AND a 1" block for a lift in the back. This basically keeps a little "rake" similar to stock, but a little higher than stock overall.

Best? There is no best of the two. It's all personal preference. There are tons of pics on this site of guys with both options. You need to decide for yourself which one you like.

Go with PRG as stated above. i got mine for 250+free shipping! got a local shop here in NC to put it on for me for like $50, then got a alignment for $39.95 at a local tire dealer! But your in CA, and everything is expensive out there so good luck!

Re: Mini lift kit questions

Did the mini lift on mine. My consideration was that towing the rig you see in the sig, I didn't want the back to squat. Works like a charm.

Re: Mini lift kit questions

Not because of the mini lift. You can replace them to get better handling or ride quality, but nothing additional will be required. Again, it's your choice to do it, but you don't have to.
