my dealer calls me to remind me about my scheduled maintenance cause if not, i'd probably forget everytime.

Look at your maintenance schedule, most you can do yourself. There is some debate about some of the items on the 30K scheduled maintenace list. Search under 30K maintenance for more on this subject.

I do my own oil changes (including filter) as well as check all fluid levels - but items like changing the transmission fluid and coolant, I'll take it to the dealership.
I don't know if you're asking if you have to pay for these maintenance items or not - the answer is YES you pay

As long as my truck is under warranty I'll have the dealer do the maint, simply because I don't want there to ever be any question about lack of proper maintenance should a problem arise.

I have a whiteboard mounted on the wall in the garage where I write down the mileage and what maint is due next for both of our vehicles, makes it hard to forget when you look right at it every day.
